There is never a shortage of things to do here. Nick and I took care of the bosses' horses for a few days while they were out of town. I tried my hand at equine vet tech duties by giving Gracie daily injections of penicillin - quite an experience! My apologies for the photography - we had an inexperienced photographer and uncooperative horses.). Mom recently took a painting class. With absolutely NO previous painting experience, this was her very first painting!

I said I would make the drive in two days. We left at 9:00 PM Friday, August 27, and arrived in Arkansas Sunday, August 29 at 6:30 PM. Sunrise over New Mexico. Nico at the Grand Canyon. I couldn't drive by so closely and not stop! After two weeks of sleeping on the floor, the moving truck finally arrived!

The Natural State

Arkansas is a beautiful state. It is easy to see how it earned the nickname: "The Natural State.". Nick and I have begun a Saturday ritual of exploring the "Natural State." This is the view from the top of Mt. Nebo, just a 15 minute drive from our house. We have also visited Waldron, Arkansas, the birthplace of Mom's mother, Arizona Pettit Rodgers. Here's Mom standing next to the Waldron sign at the edge of town. Here's a picture of Nick standing underneath the "Seasonal Waterfall" on Mt. Nebo.
