There may also be numbness or an unpleasant feeling in the toes. How did I get this? What can I do about it? Placing an icepack on the affected area helps reduce swelling.

History of ankle injury (e.g. blow to the ankle or ankle sprain) which can displace the peroneal tendons. This feels firm to the touch. This mass can remain the same size or get larger over time, or additional fibromas may develop. People who have a plantar fibroma may or may not have pain. How did I get this? The cause is unknown but thought to have a genetic component. What can I do about it? Wear appropriate comfortable footwear.

New shoes that have soft, roomy toe boxes (should be 1cm longer than your longest toe). Avoid wearing tight, narrow, high-heeled shoes. Find a shoe with a deep toe box that accommodates the hammer toe. When will it get better?

How did I get this? Arthritis can be a risk factor. Family history of Hallux Valgus. Wearing tight shoes can contribute to the problem. What can I do about it? Wear good fitting shoes.
