Now I'm going to tell you a story about Beer. I said. "what are you doing in my bed" he repeated. It's not). The Australian managed to dri...

Old Things and Food Things. Monday, May 25, 2009. Not So Ready Anymore. I chose the name ReadyRachel because I was ready. I was ready to go on my trip. I was ready to see the world. Once I was in a hostel in Germany and a boy came in with a knife and a bucket of warm water. “what are you doing? 8221; I asked. “I have an ingrown toenail” he said, “and I need to cut it out”. 8221; he exclaimed. Old Things and Food Things. Friday, May 1, 2009. What Twisted Webs We Weave. Eight months into this trip and lying has finally become near flawless for me. This sounds like a bad thing, but is actually a good development in terms of safety, awkwardness, and general ease of single female travel. http://readyrachel.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
Old Things and Food Things. Friday, February 27, 2009. It's that plumbing is always preferable to having your house sink into the muck. And bats and fish and French people and the dark and spiders and snakes and mayonnaise. Thursday, February 26, 2009. It was 95 degrees outside with 90% humidity. I had been in Laos for three days, and was going to take the patch that everyone there does - take a bus to Vang Vien. Go tubing down a river filled with make-shift bars, go to Luang. The pool was closed. In fac...
