An explanation of the value of the watermill in teaching the National Curriculum. The Watermill, recorded in 1767 but certainly much older, was used until 1963. It has an eleven foot diameter overshot waterwheel and all its machinery is intact. Restored by Pitstone Local History Society, it retains all the atmosphere of a farm mill in the late 1800s. Buckinghamshire's only working Watermill with original machinery. A short video about Ford End Watermill. This little mill, recorded in 1616 but certainly very much older, was in use until 1963. Restored by volunteers, and now maintained and run by Ford End Watermill Society, it is the only remaining working watermill in Buckinghamshire with original machinery.
