We gathered a group of friends and rented a house on the western end of the Algarve for a long weekend during our last month in Portugal. Sunday, May 15, 2011. Normally this part of the aqueduct is closed to the public, but we got to go on a special tour and walk along the outside edge. There was a serial killer in the 1800's who killed more than 60 people by grabbing unsuspecting pedestrians and throwing them over the edge of the aqueduct, far down into the valley below! I know I wouldn't want to walk across there at night. Another view with some clouds rolling in. Here is a view inside the tunnel where the water used to flow.

Tuesday, January 31, 2012. Maxim Portugal Launch Party. At the end of January, we heard that Maxim magazine was launching in Portugal and that there would be a big party to celebrate the event. We decided that this was the type of party we needed to attend, so I worked my magic and got a group of us on the guest list. Although our intern was able to work on important subjects of U.S. foreign policy, this party was probably the highlight of his time in Portugal. Everyone else had a good time as well.

Friday, November 11, 2011. In October, I attended a two-day conference in London. We added on the weekend and Hillary came along. We stayed at the apartment of a friend over the weekend and enjoyed the city, which we both decided is among our favorite in the world. We found the best falafel ever at Spitalfields Market at a place called Pilpel. If ever in London, go there. We rented bikes and rode around the city, checking out Tower Bridge and the Tower of London along the way. Thursday, November 10, 2011.
