FINiatures: March 2011
http://finiatures.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
Saturday, March 5, 2011. Yesterday I painted this Imperialist Officer for the Thirty Years War. The miniature itself is from Warlord Games and was painted for a user of the tabletop-hdr.de forums. I'm sorry for the crappy pictures but I had to use the camera of a flatmate. Labels: Thirty Years War. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Conquering the Lead Mountain: Blog. FINiatures: July 2011
http://finiatures.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
Thursday, July 28, 2011. Great Source of Inspiration. I have a soft spot for George R. R. Martin's Song of Ice and Fire. Since he released his 5th book A Dance with Dragons. And HBO aired the first season of A Game of Thrones. At the moment I search for fitting miniatures to paint some of the characters of the books and will presumably be using the GRRM-Masterworks. Range of Dark Sword Miniatures or converted War of the Roses/Hundred Years' War miniatures from Perry Miniatures. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Tuesday, July 24, 2012. House Stark: Heavy Infantry. Just in case some of you wondered: Although there are so few updates, the "Ice and Fire" project is still alive. I recently finished some Perry "Brigans", painted as Stark bannermen. Leader of these men at arms is the famous Ethan Glover of Deepwood Motte, bannerman to Lord Eddard Stark and one of his companions at the Tower of Joy. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Tuesday, January 15, 2013. Kauzenburg" 2013 - An Unexpected Journey. As every year, I attended this year's "Kauzenburg Convention", last weekend. "Kauzenburg" is a German Wargaming Convention hosted by members of the biggest german LotR-tabletop community. Actually this year's event had to be relocated, so I shouldn't call it "Kauzenburg" anymore (it originally took place in a local castle) but old habits die hard. The new title should be: LotR Wargaming Convention at Bonnheimer Hof 2013. Since most of t...

FINiatures: October 2011
http://finiatures.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
Monday, October 24, 2011. I ordered some of the awesome Dark Sword Miniatures to see if they would fit in with the miniatures I use. Although I had already heard that they were slightly taller and a bit more subtle, the result surprised me:. I don't see much problems with the Robert Baratheon miniature, as he is described being some strong young man at the time of the revolution, but the Mountain is just MASSIVE! He looks way taller than the 8 feet that are described in the books. More like 9 or 10.

FINiatures: And down down to Goblin-town...
http://finiatures.blogspot.com/2013/01/and-down-down-to-goblin-town.html
Thursday, January 10, 2013. And down down to Goblin-town. Take them away to dark holes full of snakes, and never let them see the light again! JRRTolkien, The Hobbit. I finished some more of the "Escape from Goblin Town"-goblins. I really enjoyed painting each of them in an "individual" colour scheme. What I wouldn't have believed from the official GW paint jobs: These models have a lot of character! The bases were kept simple. Just rocks with some sparse grass. Some of them got some plankwork as...I wil...

Sunday, March 11, 2012. Living by the Sword. Since it wasn't possible for me to attend this year's Tactica. In Hamburg, I spontaneously visited the Spieltrieb Frankfurt. Wargaming club yesterday to get some live impressions of their great "Feud of Kronberg" Impetus presentation. I had no camera with me, but took these photos with my mobile. I hope they can convey the great atmosphere of the terrain and the miniatures. Thanks for the great game! Kronberg infantery in the centre. Thursday, March 8, 2012.

Sunday, March 17, 2013. Jomada - Adventures in Middle-earth. Welcome to Jomada - Adventures in Middle-earth! The Hobbit has hit the theatres, GW has rebooted the LotR/Hobbit SBG, and this year's Bonnheim Convention. Has shown once more, how much fun wargaming in Middle-earth can be. These were only three of many good reasons that led HVM. And me to the decision to combine our individual Middle-earth themed projects into one shiny new blog. Feel welcome to visit us at Jomada. Saturday, January 21, 2012. Kauzenburg 2012 Picture Gallery. A comprehensive article on the event has been published on tabletop-hdr.de. The article is in German, but more than 150 pictures speak for themselves: Kauzenburg 2012. Saturday, January 14, 2012. Impetus at Kauzenburg 2012. Frank Becker, one of those more talented photographers has already presented some better pictures of the event in his hobby blog: Figuren und Geschichten. Wednesday, August 31, 2011. Pimp My Cardboard Building - Part I. I never built a lot of terrain for my games. Most times I use the tables of friends because my terrain building skills are really not that evolved. So far I only painted some of the plastic ruins from the LotR Starter Boxes and built the cardboard houses from the 5th Edition Warhammer Starter Set which I found again last week, when clearing out the lumber room. Forunately I found this article. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
