About Faith that Works. The Safe Home in Ethiopia. Monday, June 20, 2011. Love Covers Tent City. One of my roles as an intern this summer is to make and sell soda tab bracelets. Since Faith that Works has a heart to help women in need, one of the ways I have been able to my faith into action is to go down to. Once a week and teach women living there how to make these bracelets. Is a homeless camp in downtown. I mean, as humans, we all come from somewhere…parents, brothers, sisters, aunts uncles, gr...

Wifemother.sister.daughter.disciple. September 13, 2013. First of all, we have had. Amazing support in our journey with Isaac. We are so grateful for the validation, prayer, strength, wisdom, and encouragement from amazing family and friends. It is comforting to know we are not living our lives in a vacuum but are surrounded by love. Isaac at Field Day last year. Doesn’t he look so Asian in this picture? I’ve written a little before about our Isaac. I write this, because I feel like other moms and dads n...

Wifemother.sister.daughter.disciple. January 7, 2013. My days are full to the brim with caring for our one-month old little wonder, Anorah, but this post-holiday quiet is giving me time to reflect a bit on what has passed and what’s to come. But I digress…. I posted on my Facebook wall that I was so grateful for the year of blessing and reprieve that we experienced in 2012. Looking at the definition of “reprieve”, I’m not sure that’s the exact word I meant to use. So many steps…. Five Dollars →. Address ...

India: When All I Have Is Love
http://lifechangeinternational.blogspot.com/2013/07/when-all-i-have-is-love.html
Sunday, July 14, 2013. When All I Have Is Love. As he gawked at us, mouth open wide, when we explained that our parents are not married, our moms are re-married, our siblings are also a more complicated web to explain than English meeting Hindi can make sense of. Does your dad love you, sister? He nodded and smiled, yes sister, I think you will. He carried out the cake to us and hid a piece behind his back to eat too. We could not stop laughing. You pay how much for your rent? Your phone bill costs what?

India: When [Not] Helping Hurts
http://lifechangeinternational.blogspot.com/2013/07/when-not-helping-hurts.html
Saturday, July 6, 2013. When [Not] Helping Hurts. A year ago I remember writing about the colors covering up the dirtiness of this bustling city. In the heart of this nation that I love. I remember being captivated by them, in fact. I remember the beauty of the women and the promises of God to bring redemption to these people being so near to my heart, an undeniable really. This time though, I am met with a darkness behind the colors and I feel it lingering tonight, feasting away at the light inside of me.

India: We're Here!
http://lifechangeinternational.blogspot.com/2013/07/were-here.html
Friday, July 5, 2013. We made it to India! We're here in Delhi at a nice hotel with air-conditioning, wireless internet, water and soda in the mini-fridge, a flat screen TV, and super fancy bathroom with a shower. It's almost like we're in the US still, until we step outside of our hotel and hear the languages of Hindi and honking that are spoken on the street, and see the amazing way that cars and rickshaws can make five lanes out of three lane streets. Here's where our hope comes from:. God answered ou...

India: And We Finally Made it to Happy Valley
http://lifechangeinternational.blogspot.com/2013/07/and-we-finally-made-it-to-happy-valley.html
Monday, July 8, 2013. And We Finally Made it to Happy Valley. Re-match to come, I am quite sure, but no one is keeping score, not really. We flew two hours South and made it here to Bhubaneswar. We are so blessed to be hosted by an American pilot living here. After being picked up from the airport, first stop: Baskin Robins! It was exciting for me to get to see Philos, (the son of the Pastor we are going to serve) as he is here studying at a boarding school. Reunited with Pastor Sam and Bano, so thankful!
