I have an IDE adapter (IDE to USB) that I can use with my laptop to view (and access) the files on an old IDE hard drive. However, I wish to copy the data from said hard drive to another external drive (directly). Lappy is on Win2k, Dell Latitude. Can't remember how to find boot priority in its BIOS (doing this remotely with technophobe parents - daring.). If I could, I'd tell it to boot from old IDE drive (which has WinXP on it, albeit corrupted heavily so it will only boot in safe mode).

My aunt's computer keeps restarting itself every time I start it up. Whenever I press F8 to pick a boot device (every time it starts) none of them work. It just kind of goes to load windows and then decides to restart again after the attempt. So what should I do? Nothing is working :/ Her computer has the main internet, yet I can still connect to her internet with my wireless laptop. It's weird. Any suggestions? Post a new comment.
