Carl Zeiss 8x60 binoculars in Swedish service. To my knowledge Sweden was the only country allowed to buy Carl Zeiss 8x60 binoculars from Germany before 1945. The 8x60 binoculars exported to Sweden in 1940 and earlier were not coated, although the German versions of the same binoculars were. 8x60 Torpedo sight, NIFE and Officine Galileo. I have to correct a mistake I made in the book. On page 46 I show a torpedo sight from the cruiser Tre Kronor and state that the binocular used on the instrument is a development of the NIFE 8x60 Deck mounted . Http:/ www.marinmuseum.se/sv/Sok/? A part of the ordnance delivered were torpedoes, can these torpedo sights have been included in the delivery? I will try to find more facts about this.

Carl Zeiss Jena, D.F. 7x (Abbe-König). I think this binocular represents, in a nice way, what I find interesting about military binoculars. The military markings often makes it possible to trace down in which branch the binocular was used, and sometimes in which unit. I found this very mysterious.

Renovering av ruffbåt

Ruffbåten Olivia byggdes antagligen på Mariestads båtvarv 1936 på uppdrag av varvet Sjöexpress på Lidingö. Konstruktör är troligtvis Henning Forslund. Torsdag 15 juli 2010. I sökning efter systerbåtar till Olivia har jag funnit Greta. I Piteå och Trolle. En dag skall Olivia vara lika fin som de är. Rutramarna är tyvärr krossade och avbrutna så de måste renoveras.
