The Project - aka Marron House
http://theproject-akamarronhouse.blogspot.com/2015/08/back-to-warmer-weather-or-at-least.html
The Project - aka Marron House. The rural idyll . Thursday, August 6, 2015. Back to warmer weather (or at least sunnier) with eight degrees today and sunshine and a breeze. An icy breeze, but sufficient to dry the clothes that I washed - all bar the waistbands etc. So a few pairs of pants are hanging over the backs of bits of furniture and the rest will be put away shortly. I have an osso bucco chugging away in the oven at present - will serve it in a couple of hours with buttered noodles I think. So muc...

The Project - aka Marron House. The rural idyll . Monday, August 3, 2015. Last night when I took the boys out for their last run of the evening, I spotted a sparse sprinkling of frozen snowflakes in the base of the wheelbarrow. Well, thinks me, so much for our snowfalls. By the time i went to bed (somewhat delayed due to a rivetting book), there was a thin coating on the ground, but spotting it actually falling was a bit of a challenge. Meantime, all of us are staying indoors, apart from a quick run out ...

http://theproject-akamarronhouse.blogspot.com/2015/08/a-total-debasement-of-all-dietary.html
The Project - aka Marron House. The rural idyll . Thursday, August 13, 2015. A total debasement of all dietary principles last night. They had McCains Chicken Parmiggiana on special, so I had that for dinner - a complete roast dinner on a plastic plate - aaaargh! I also washed last week's washing (shirts, sock and jocks, so to speak) and all bar the socks managed to get dry. It is now all piled on the bed, hiding one or two books that need to find homes some time before bedtime. Blogs I am following.

Early Bird Farm: Lucas Mill
http://earlybirdfarmyard.blogspot.com/2015/08/lucas-mill.html
Tuesday, August 4, 2015. We took a trip down to Victoria (one of the scariest trips back, but that's a whole other story). To pick up a Lucas Mill. Left at 6 am and finally got back home at 1.20 am the next day. It was a very long trip wish we had stayed over and did the trip over two days. Before we went Andrew had Mal down at the metal works make up a T frame to hold the side rails of the mill on the roof. It just bolts to the tow bar and can be taken on or off in a few minutes. Cuts like a dream.

Early Bird Farm: July 2015
http://earlybirdfarmyard.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Sunday, July 26, 2015. We purchased 2 shipping containers from Pambula, they were the only ones who would deliver for a reasonable price. 7300 for two 20 foot containers delivered. The reason for the containers is we need somewhere to store all our stuff when we get it delivered. Going form a 4 bed house on 1/2 an acre, to a 1 room cabin on 160 acres. Plenty of acres not enough house for all the stuff you accumulate over the years, even though we sold off heaps of stuff before the moving truck arrived.

Early Bird Farm: March 2015
http://earlybirdfarmyard.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Monday, March 30, 2015. Yesterday morning started out very foggy with a light mist. We drove into town for some supplies and i cooked us all breakfast of bacon and egg sandwiches over at Phillips camp. After breakfast as the sun got higher and the fog had disappeared we went on a walk of the property. Phillip said it would be a long walk and it was, 10 hours (just kidding it was probably only 2 hours) and a couple of blisters later we arrived back at camp. This is our fridge, battery and solar set up.

The Project - aka Marron House. The rural idyll . Friday, August 7, 2015. The train that went through last night around 8ish sounded very odd as it passed. I rarely notice the trains but this one, as it approached was making a weird noise, and it sustained it as it went by. Apparently it derailed this side of Andover (the next stop, and not that far away). They really should pay more attention to what they are doing, methinks. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Early Bird Farm: Timber
http://earlybirdfarmyard.blogspot.com/2015/08/timber.html
Saturday, August 15, 2015. All of our buildings will be made from the timber we have here at Early Bird Farm. We are very lucky to have so many trees to choose from, Yellow Box, Cyprus Pine, Eucalyptus, Black Butt and hundreds of other varieties of hard wood that i dont know the names of. At the moment we are only cutting trees that are already down. All the smaller stuff for the fire and the big timber for the mill. This tree is in the front paddock, this is one half of it, it's split down the middle.

Early Bird Farm: April 2015
http://earlybirdfarmyard.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Monday, April 27, 2015. Little bit of rain is a bit of an understatement especially when your camping every thing seems wet, cold and miserable. The clothes don't dry and your towels are wet before you even use them. We went into town to do the wash the other day as it was the first lot of sun we had seen in over a week. Washed it all and took it back to camp to hang on the line, the sun didn't last long and the rain was on and off, then it got cold so in came the washing. Today we went into Merimbula an...

The Project - aka Marron House. The rural idyll . Sunday, August 2, 2015. The forecast is for snowfalls in the late evening and overnight. So you can imagine my surprise when the walk with the dogs resulted in us making a dash for home at two in the afternoon, in the middle of a blizzard. Fortunately the fire is warm and the wood is in, and cut so no harm done. You should note it is the not the board that is sloping, but the ceiling. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
