Fort Roberdeau is a Blair County Park located in the scenic Sinking Valley in Pennsylvania, not too far from Altoona Pa.The park grounds are open year round. The reconstructed fort is open during the spring, summer and fall. It is the site of several events, recreational activities, and school field trips throughout the year. Please check the Visit section of this site for a listing, and for hours of operation.

The Lead Mine Fort. Unlike many forts, this fort was constructed using horizontal logs. The limestone of the valley is so close to the surface that it prevented the normal procedure of digging the post holes for the vertical logs and then backfilling around the logs.

White Oak Hall Rentals. Bring your special event to the Fort. Fort Roberdeau and its facilities can be a charming and interesting site for your wedding, meeting, or party. The site is tobacco and alcohol free. White Oak Hall, offers the most space, it's capacity is 125 people. The Farmhouse can also be rented. It can accommodate up to 75 guests. Fort Roberdeau is looking forward to providing your students with our award-winning school programs. We provide two options for school groups. Minimum fee $60 or 10 participants. 10 students per station, 6 stations, 30 minutes each. Students learn by doing; they will examine 18th century objects, hear the crack of the musket, smell the soup cooking in the kettle over the smoky wood fire, and learn the effects of weather and environment on the lives of the settlers.
