The sites are open daily year round except Christmas Day. Feb 15 - Oct. 31: 10:00 am to 5:30 pm *. Nov 01 - Feb. 14: 9:00 am to 4:30 pm*. Please remember that buildings and exhibits are closed one. Half-hour before the sites gates. Suggested visit length: 1-2 hours. An entry fee is charged. For current entry fees contact the sites. Educational and commercial groups are asked to book in advance. Guided tours for groups are available at an additional cost, subject to staff availability.

On July 1, 1372, a group of travelers met on the road from London to Canterbury. As the Peste had struck, they were forced to camp in a field, rather than stay at an inn. Mark Fitton, goldsmith of London, and his wife Linnet, journeyman of the Company of Paynter Stainers of London, were going to Canterbury to visit relatives and sell their wares. Accompanying them were Linnet's apprentices Ann and Lucy, and the cook, Giles. Giles spent most of the day at the hearth, cooking supper.

How to get to Fort Rodd Hill from downtown Victoria:. Fort Rodd Hill is 14 km (8.4 miles) by road west of downtown Victoria, B.C. Head north on Douglas Street (Victoria's main street) until it turns into Highway 1. Follow Highway 1 for 5 km (3 miles), then take the Colwood exit (exit #10). Follow Highway 1A for 2 km (1.2 miles), then turn left at the third traffic light onto Ocean Boulevard. Follow the signs to the sites. Please note that pets and bicycles are not allowed in the sites.
