Home Grown 1: March 2013

http://fortysomethingmichelle.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html

A blog about the good life. Monday, March 25, 2013. To say we have been busy with the whole transition from one home to another is quite possibly an understatement. Who knew there was so much to do? So far we have accomplished a few major steps. First things first. Land. We bought a 9.4 acre piece of land in an acreage development just 5 minutes outside of Battleford, SK. I am very excited about the proximity to the Battlefords. 5 minutes, on a grid. Not even a highway! As I am unable to upload them.

Home Grown 1: January 2014

http://fortysomethingmichelle.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html

A blog about the good life. Tuesday, January 28, 2014. If You Build It They Will Come. I have been rather disappointed with the lack of birds out here on the farm. Actually, I am rather happy about the lack of Grackles and Sparrows. Those birds were the bane of my existence back in Delisle. They were known to empty out a feeder in a day! What I missed were the songbirds. The birds are also just loving the deer bones. Who would have thought? I look forward to the spring when the birds return from their wi...

Home Grown 1: May 2013

http://fortysomethingmichelle.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html

A blog about the good life. Tuesday, May 28, 2013. I have barely begun the arduous task of packing up a household. I will be very discriminating at what gets to come along and what will simply have to find a new home. Paul, on the other hand, wants to keep everything for that just in case scenario. I'm packing so guess who gets to decide? Heehee. I'd love to pack up his hockey equipment and take it to Goodwill but he has already been asked to play! The movers come on June 24th to take everything away&#46...

Home Grown 1: November 2013

http://fortysomethingmichelle.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html

A blog about the good life. Sunday, November 24, 2013. We were stuck in an uncommon deep freeze for most of the week. I mean really really cold. -35C with the windchill for two days! Paul was away on business for all of those chilly days so it was up to me to hold down the fort. I was really worried about the dogs. How could they possibly tolerate this relentless cold? We have lived here 5 months now and I have made some observations:. We wear bright colors and make some noise so hunters won't mistake us...

Home Grown 1: New Beginnings

http://fortysomethingmichelle.blogspot.com/2014/02/new-beginnings.html

A blog about the good life. Tuesday, February 25, 2014. Maybe someday I will log on again but I hope not. Another thing that has ended for me is this blog. Its story is told and just like some of you have said in the past, my child's story is hers to tell, or not. I am so glad to have documented her life from a tiny little soul until she turned ten on both this blog and my older one. Ten is a big age, you know! February 26, 2014 at 4:50 AM. Facebook can certainly create a lot of unwanted drama. My so...

Year of Lovely Things. January 2, 2012. 2012: year of the sheep? OK, not really, but JEEZ it’s very clear from the date on the post preceding THIS ONE that I was a terrible blogger/moderator in 2011. Year of Lovely Things. January 17, 2011. We may again with tear-drenched eyes have to stand before the bier of some courageous civil rights worker whose life will be snuffed out by the dastardly acts of bloodthirsty mobs. Difficult and painful as it is, we must walk on in the days ahead with an audacious faith in the future. Dr Martin Luther King, Jr., from 1967 speech “Where Do We Go From Here? 8211; and if enough people take that step together, it becomes a. Wishing you joy in service on this MLK Day.

https://yearoflovelythings.wordpress.com/2011/01/02/happy-new-year

Year of Lovely Things. January 2, 2011. Today is the end of the week 1 of 53. I hope your year has kicked off to a great beginning. Have you been wondering what the next 52 weeks will offer? Have you made (or are planning to make) a list of Lovely Things you’d like to experience this year? For me, the responses would be, ‘Kind-of, Yes, and Definitely! Sign-ups for 2011 will open in the next day or two. My toddler and I are recovering from a state of coughing, congested, sleep-deprived. And 5 things from ...
