PAL is an acronym for Platform Application Layer. A Pal is a SAAS application that runs on the CloudPiston platform. It contains business logic, workflow, and presentation content for a specific business process. It can control various artifacts including Transactions, Documents, Datasets, etc through platform APIs. A Pal can be serialized as an XML file for importing and exporting from a CloudPiston installation. Binary content such as images or attachments are base64 encoded within the file.

There will be at most 4 major releases per calendar year. The production upgrade date will generally be the last Saturday of the first month of each quarter (January, April, July, October) from 10:30PM to approximately 10:45PM Mountain Time. Customers will receive a reminder notice approximately one week prior to the actual release date.
