Plasterwoman - Jen Harmon Allen. View my complete profile. Tuesday, August 28, 2012. My Studios Heat up in August! Things have been getting hot here in August. I happen to work in two lovely studios. One is in my cool basement, a place for working with clay and paint, making rubber molds, and other quiet projects. It's also big enough to fit a couple not-so-quiet children (my two boys and their cousin) who sometimes make stuff alongside me, but mostly distract me! A couple weeks ago:. Links to this post.

Plasterwoman - Jen Harmon Allen. View my complete profile. Friday, November 4, 2011. Body-building not of the muscle kind. Triptych" by Jen Harmon Allen, an installation created as a commission for the Not Just Another Pretty Face program at. Salt Lake Art Center, 2011. Years ago, while making plaster casts of a female figure of mine, I ended up with some broken appendages left over: legs, arms, and heads. I found I was more interested in these fragments than the whole unbroken sculpture. I began...I am ...

Plasterwoman - Jen Harmon Allen. View my complete profile. Wednesday, October 10, 2012. I am installing a series of 44 leaping and running legs in the hallway of my home. With two active boys and all their friends zipping in and out each day I figured it was about time. I'm feeling really happy with the addition of color to these legs as well. They are lively and gleaming, like a fire's flame. I will post the finished install on the wall when it is done. October 10, 2012 at 12:34 PM. Love the colors Jen!
Plasterwoman -- Jen Harmon Allen: A look at my gear as Ascension sculpture returns from foundry

Plasterwoman - Jen Harmon Allen. View my complete profile. Tuesday, November 1, 2011. A look at my gear as Ascension sculpture returns from foundry. Sam and I in Wallsburg, 2001. The cause for this gear purge is the arrival of "Ascension" aka "Moon Lady" from the foundry. I'll be working out in the cold garage, so I need to gear up! This is what stainless steel looks in the rough. Kind of dingy, eh? Ascension," rough cast stainless steel, 2011. November 1, 2011 at 10:39 PM. Especially the third quatrain.

Plasterwoman - Jen Harmon Allen. View my complete profile. Saturday, December 8, 2012. Lava Jumping" is finished. This installation is in my own home. I started the process of getting it installed. Months ago. After painting each pair of legs and poking many many holes in the wall I am finally done. The prospect of living with this installation made me extremely picky about the work's placement and colorings. Links to this post. Plasterwoman - Jen Harmon Allen. View my complete profile. Wednesday, December 14, 2011. Gray acrylic, drapes really nicely and is SOFT! I also love the look of this design: the cowl. It's elegant and simple. You can be wearing a rather non-descript outfit, but once you put one of these on you are good to go! And keeping your neck warm keeps all of you warm. So here they are! Plasterwoman - Jen Harmon Allen. View my complete profile. Tuesday, July 3, 2012. 21 x 10 x 6 inches, including base. Casting no. 2 of 10. This is casting number two of the piece I made last fall. I have nicknamed her "Moon Lady" but she is also known as "Ascension." You can see from the first casting. That calling her "Ascension" was appropriate for the mounting my clients wanted: suspended in air and appearing to rise. I have shipped her off to be part of Sylvan Gallery's grand opening.
