Fosters Dogs

Great Danes fostered through the Mid-Atlantic Great Dane Rescue League(MAGDRL). Sunday, August 7, 2011. Bad news is that he has a few "bad" spots in his neck. His C3 and C4 vertebrae were fused, he had tipping on his C5 and the spacing between the C7 was a triangle shape instead of the normal rectangle. The diagnosis: Cervical Vertebral Instability aka Wobbler's. I did learn something interesting with Wobbler's, apparently the term is used loosely and to describe a few different spinal cord diseases.

Fosters Dogs: May 2011

http://www.fosterdanes.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html

Great Danes fostered through the Mid-Atlantic Great Dane Rescue League(MAGDRL). Sunday, May 29, 2011. Sawyer is one lucky boy! With his eyesight deteriorating, I contacted Doggles a company out of California and they were awesome and donated a pair of Doggles to not only Sawyer, but also Stella! Haha, was pretty funny! Overall, I think they really helped him; when we got home, he was not squinting at all and his eyes didn't seem to bother him as they usually do after being out all day! With his eyesight d.

http://www.fosterdanes.blogspot.com/2011/07/update.html

Great Danes fostered through the Mid-Atlantic Great Dane Rescue League(MAGDRL). Sunday, July 3, 2011. Sawyer the stud is still doing well adjusting to his Doggles. We attended the Washington Summer Festival in June and he did wonderful. Kept his shades on the whole time! Everyone loves a big white dog sporting sunglasses! As usual he helped draw a crowd over.especially when he finally crashed.in the chair! Not sure how much longer he'll fit though! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

All things Nola...: February 2009

http://mydognola.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html

And our favorite stuff! Tuesday, February 10, 2009. Had to share this. My plan is to post pictures and stories from Nola's life here. (Silly? Perhaps. But she's my "child" and that's what moms do.) I'm quite behind since I didn't think to even start this blog until only recently and she'll be 2 next month (. But I couldn't help but share this post with you. So when Teddy came into Jen and Dave's life she was ready. But I guess I wasn't ready for what a Dogmom she has become. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

All things Nola...: Food Debate

http://mydognola.blogspot.com/2009/04/food-debate.html

And our favorite stuff! Saturday, April 25, 2009. Nola has been eating Nutro Ultra. For quite a while now. however recently, Consumer Reports published an article. Citing that the company was under investigation by the FDA. Two days later, another report. Was released saying that there was no investigation. Regardless of this, I have heard many negative things about Nutro and am not terribly excited about using their products. My first choice food, The Honest Kitchen. What do you feed and why? Thanks lad...

All things Nola...: Food: Settled!

http://mydognola.blogspot.com/2009/05/food-settled.html

And our favorite stuff! Monday, May 4, 2009. We have a winner! I called Honest Kitchen last week to ask for some samples since you have to pay $1 for them online then pay MORE to have them shipped to you. It was three times the cost of product to have it shipped! Bleh The rep I spoke with was SUPER nice and very helpful. Today, our samples arrived. I was SO excited! And thanks again for all the comments and emails! Labels: great food debate. I think you will be happy with the Honest Kitchen.

All things Nola...: November 2009

http://mydognola.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html

And our favorite stuff! Tuesday, November 10, 2009. We went to the doctor last Friday for Nola's annual check up. I've put this off since July trying to decide what to do about her vaccines. North Carolina law requires canines to have a rabies vaccine every three years, ok not a big deal. She wasn't due for that though. she was due for her recommended vaccine combo: distemper, hepatitis, lepto, parvo, and parainfluenza. I really did. Labels: great food debate. All things Nola...: Lucky Fi... Nola!

http://mydognola.blogspot.com/2009/10/lucky-fi-nola.html

And our favorite stuff! Sunday, October 18, 2009. Lucky Fi. Nola! Wondering why her neck is naked? Well, a few weeks ago, we won a custom collar and leash from Lucky Fiona. But we asked if we could change it up. We chose a Choco Bloom martingale because it happens to look GREAT on Nola's coat and it matches perfectly with her Ruffwear. Shannon was SO sweet and even made it extra wide because she knows how much we adore this print. Bells was THRILLED to get her package in the mail! We LOVE our new collar!

http://mydognola.blogspot.com/2009/01/where-ridge-would-be.html

And our favorite stuff! Saturday, January 24, 2009. Where the ridge would be. She doesn't have a ridge but she does have a darker stripe down her back. see below:. I like her just the way she is :) LOL. Glad you had a little snow. We have a little more last night and then are expecting more tonight and tomorrow. My Macie girl loves to bury her nose in it and smell around or eat it! January 26, 2009 at 9:12 AM. What a beautiful dog! Mixed-breeds are the best! Love the puppy pics! May 20, 2009 at 1:26 AM.

Did I mention that Nola is part Rhodesian Ridgeback? I love that about her! I only recently learned this and feel ridiculous that I hadn't put two and two together before. anywho. while she doesn't have the true ridge (not all purebred Rhodies even have it, did you know that? Here are some fun Rhodie. Nola's dad, Majra.
