Somebody Else’s Toys | fosterfull
https://fosterfull.wordpress.com/2012/11/02/somebody-elses-toys
Faith, foster care, and adoption…. November 2, 2012. Somebody Else’s Toys. Posted by Sarah under Uncategorized. It’s just me and Grover tonight, and we’ve been playing it pretty low-key. A friend loaned Grover one of their family’s favorite bath toys today: a Little People Floating Marina, circa 1976. It is completely awesome, equipped with slide and diving board, seaplane, gas station, and boat docks. This is one SILLY kid! Now if you’ll excuse me, I have a seaplane to fly…. Where’s her family? | fosterfull
https://fosterfull.wordpress.com/2012/11/06/wheres-her-family
Faith, foster care, and adoption…. November 6, 2012. Where’s her family? Posted by Sarah under Uncategorized. Two weeks ago today, we brought home a lovely baby bunny as a companion for our 6-month-old rabbit. Our whole family went together to choose this bunny, and we decided to name her Sally. As we were walking towards the car with Sally resting in the pet carrier, Grover turned to me and asked, “Where’s her mom and dad? In this case, though, I think we have a little boy who’s dealing with a gro...

Faith, foster care, and adoption…. October 31, 2012. Feeling a little overwhelmed…. Posted by Sarah under Uncategorized. It’s been a rough couple of weeks for us, adoption-wise. We’ve had multiple issues around birth family contact, though I’m hoping that a letter we sent today will establish clear boundaries and precedent. We’ve also had some difficult conversations with Grover about the “why” of his adoption. By the way, Happy Halloween! 2 Responses to “Feeling a little overwhelmed…”. From your own site.

Faith, foster care, and adoption…. November 1, 2012. Don’t you guys have two kids? Posted by Sarah under Uncategorized. That was a question from a neighbor during last night’s trick-or-treat. It’s been almost a year and a half since Baby Boy returned home. My husband and I looked at one another, then back at the neighbor. “No,” he said. “Just this one.” And we headed on to the next house. Cherub Mamma: Foster Care in Bullet Points
http://cherubmamma.blogspot.com/p/foster-care-in-bullet-points.html
Foster Care in Bullet Points. How I Treat Lice. Foster Care in Bullet Points. I don't even know how to respond when we say something about getting a new placement and someone says, "congratulations". This child had to suffer abuse, neglect, abandonment or all three in order to be removed from their family. Right now they are going through HELL. The last thing I need to be told or they need to overhear is, "congratulations". Umno Not even close! There's a special place in heaven for people like you. Be te...

And it continues… – Diary of a 'Houseparent'
https://diaryofahouseparent.wordpress.com/2012/02/07/hello-world
Diary of a 'Houseparent'. Taking 'stay at home parent' to the extreme…. And it continues…. February 7, 2012. March 12, 2015. We wipe snotty noses, help with homework, cook massive dinners, see them off to college, change diapers….you know…’mom’ and ‘dad’ stuff. When we aren’t taking care of our biological baby girl, we give the rest of our energy to seven boys who don’t have parents in their lives (for whatever reason) to do it for them. No, I’m not crazy. Well, maybe just a little. Kids in the system.

Ramblings of a single mom. Newer posts →. So far, so good. September 20, 2012. We’re almost through our 4th week of school and things are going pretty well! Colin has had ALL GREEN DAYS. Amazing. (Hope I’m not jinxing myself! Robbie’s had a couple of yellow days and so has Ryan, but no major issues at all. And, ho-hum, Robbie got 103 on his first two spelling tests. He’s gotten all of the regular weekly words plus the 3 bonus words each time. Crazy kid! Order (usual basket plus 8lbs of strawberries!

Ramblings of a single mom. Once again, where to begin? Anxiety, Achalasia, and Lynch Syndrome →. Quitter (or “Understanding Your Limits”). September 15, 2014. I could come up with a dozen different titles for this blog entry. I wonder if any of my old blogger friends will see this – I’ve poked my head in on this site a few times in the past year, but I haven’t been diligent about reading like I should…and I’ve clearly stopped writing for over a year. Maybe I just wasn’t meant to have three children...

Ramblings of a single mom. Quitter (or “Understanding Your Limits”) →. Once again, where to begin? June 4, 2013. I guess I’ll start where I left off – that’s a good place, right? We stopped the extra dose of Seroquel and that helped for a bit…but over the past few months, Colin’s mood continued to worsen. He got into the habit of going to his room to break things when he got mad – usually his own toys, but still not a good habit! He seems happy – that makes me happy. After a few inconclusive tests on my ...
