Old Man and the Sea: Finale
http://fotogypsiesatsea.blogspot.com/2014/11/finale.html
Old Man and the Sea. Monday, November 17, 2014. Monday, November 17, 2014. We arrived in Galesville toward the end of June. The renters who had occupied our house for the past year were moving out, and we wanted to go home and take care of some house updating. We had decided we would become part time boaters, and since we remembered how we had suffered from the heat the summer before while getting Bel Canto. We returned to Bel Canto. Cockrell Creek Crab Shack, Reedville. Skip tied up alongside and togeth...

Old Man and the Sea: Don't Screw Up!
http://fotogypsiesatsea.blogspot.com/2013/02/dont-screw-up.html
Old Man and the Sea. Tuesday, February 26, 2013. Schooner in fog, Cutler , Maine. I'm not sure I want to tell you about all. Of the stupid things I've done aboard boats, but here's one that wasn't too serious and which ended up with a good result. We were heading for an anchorage at the Niantic Yacht Club in Connecticut, off Long Island Sound. To get to it we had to go up the Niantic River past a railroad trestle and through a swinging bridge. As we entered the river, I slowed Escapade. Broke free and sh...

Old Man and the Sea: "For All In Tents and Porpoises. . ." a poem
http://fotogypsiesatsea.blogspot.com/2014/05/for-all-in-tents-and-porpoises-poem.html
Old Man and the Sea. Saturday, May 10, 2014. For All In Tents and Porpoises. . ." a poem. For all in tents. And porpoises and whales. Kept captive for our delight. Nor do I think it right. Against beasts of the field,. Although there may be some debate. About the food we eat-. I love my meat. But it makes me sad. To see hogs and cattle. Stuffed into pens like sausages. I would rather we take. Just what we need. From all the gods have given-. That would be heaven! We have grown too many,. But at the least.

Old Man and the Sea: Nightmares!
http://fotogypsiesatsea.blogspot.com/2013/01/nightmares.html
Old Man and the Sea. Tuesday, January 15, 2013. The nightmares don't have to do with the scariness of buying a boat and deciding to take up the cruising life again after 27 years (or not all of them anyway). These have to do with trying to deal with Google and its subsidiaries. (Google owns Blogspot, Blogger, Gmail, and GoDaddy web domain registration). BUT, when I tried to go to it I got an error message- no page for that URL! Haven't solved that problem yet. December 19, 2013 at 4:41 AM. Nice post....

Old Man and the Sea: "Do it Soon!"
http://fotogypsiesatsea.blogspot.com/2013/01/do-it-soon.html
Old Man and the Sea. Tuesday, January 1, 2013. Hinckley Bermuda 40 Yawl. November 22, 2012. Every time Angie spotted a Hinckley sailboat, she would point it out, exclaiming how beautiful it was. This was back in the mid 1980s when we were living aboard our Tartan 30 Escapade. And cruising the east coast and the Bahamas. Ever since that time, when anyone politely asks, “Is there anything I can do for you? It's been almost 27 years since we returned from our year living aboard Escapade. Is a wild call and ...
