This twilight scene was spied in downtown Lawrenceville, Georgia while shooting mood location shots for a client. I had driven through Lawrenceville various times over the years but had never actually parked and walked around the scenic square and side streets. I shot this nostaglic church interior last summer in Cataloochee Valley in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The picturesque, secluded valley harkens of times gone by, with the one-room schoolhouse, homestead and community church buildings still standing. My Sweet Cocoa Joy. Two weeks ago she easily walked over two miles and didn’t slow down. Last week, she hiked a mile and a half and didn’t want to stop. Her paws are wet from crossing several streams. She even pulled me in the river with her and kept right on going. At ten years old, she is still an amazing dog! We continue to paddle to get ready for the Tugaloo River History Tour next weekend. Here’s the river that we’ll paddle down for seven miles. It’s beautiful! Along the way, we’ll pass Mountain Laurel, wild roses, and plenty of poison ivy! Avoid the last in this list at all costs. Coves along the river wait to be explored. Rainy Days and Native Flowers. Last Sunday, we drove up to Sautee to have lunch outside but that was not going to happen. Instead, we had to settle for a table inside and looked through a rainy window wishing for sunshine! On the way home, we caught some rays by photographing roadside flowers.
