Every preflight check includes sumping and examining fuel for quality. Checking fuel quality, like many other preflight tasks, becomes so habitual that we can forget what we are actually looking for. Water in fuel is one of those things and it can have a seriously negative impact on engine performance. Missing Seat Rail Safety Stop On Cessna. A pilot performing a preflight inspection on a Cessna aircraft noticed a suspicious pilot (left) seat rail safety stop caught in the rear floor carpet. Closer inspection and temporary removal of the carpet revealed that the safety stop had loosened and was floating freely on the seat rail, and was actually only caught and held in place by the carpet. Prop Strike After Hand Propping At Fuel Farm. Today’s story involves proper procedures when executing ground procedures in an airplane. A lot of us saw this one originally as it was forwarded around the Internet. We don’t know the origin, but the lesson is clear. Follow proper procedures when hand-propping. It started out at the self-service Avgas pump. Gave the prop a swift swing, and the engine fired right up. Right up to around 1800 rpm I guess. The plane took off, straight for the fuel farm.

Ruminations as I wait. Friday, 16 January 2015. Today I read Colossians 3-4 so I'm thinking a little about work. Everyone has roles in life. Mine is of daughter and worker. I'm also a church member. Paul in Colossians says that all the things I do in life should be to please the Lord Jesus Christ, because he will be the one who provides the reward.
