It does this via my dreams, and it can be rather discombobulating in the morning. Sometimes the first hour of the day is spent sorting out dream from reality, and then the next few hours are spent being upset with reality and wanting to take a nap. Well, we'll take care of that! The worst part about these dreams is that the way that everything i...

Tuesday, January 24, 2012. Flirting: The duck analogy. I should start by disclaiming that this is not my original analogy, just an awesome one that I am stealing a friend of a friend and choosing to relate to and illustrate for all of you. Feel free to pass any thank you's along, I'll be sure they make it into the right hands. As I make myself sound. I told her that I'm sure that I actually seem. You are like a duck. On the surface you look totally calm and together.". Like you other quack-ers, there is ...

Sunday, April 19, 2015. Mommy Milestones from the First Few Months. Now that my baby is just over a year old, I figured that it was a good time to write down what I remember of those first few months of mommyhood. You know, now that those memories are a little faint and incomplete, and only the exaggerated versions have persisted in my memory banks. Milestone #1: Sleeping in my own bed. Before you leave the hospital after you have your baby, they give you a little training on how to take care of your new...

Thursday, March 1, 2012. The argument for dating a shorter man. Extra fantastic and extra tall, because I have gotten several comments like "If I was only two/three/four/eight inches taller; I would totally. Date you". At first it was strictly flattering, but then I started to experience a hint of frustration. Really? The only reason we can't date is because of my height? It was at the moment that I realized that I was as much of a culprit as any of them, I am a heightist! 1 Our children will thank us.

slightly awkward shelly: About Me
http://www.slightlyawkwardshelly.com/p/about-me.html
If you hadn't guessed it already, my name is Shelly, and I am at times, slightly awkward. Mostly just the things I blog about are slightly awkward. I write this blog to share my embarrassing moments, the things I'm thinking about that maybe I shouldn't put into writing, and to share multitudinous pieces of dating advice, and maybe one of these days I'll get around to giving marriage advice. Man, who happens to be shorter than me. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Contact me - -. When my dreams fix my reality.

Livin' la vida loca. Friday, January 28, 2011. Quick recap. And yes, I'm a true Northwesterner. So, I can officially say it's been *months* since I've blogged, and since I'm not enough into blogging to create a huge long post of the recap of my life, and since most of you don't care, I'm posting this quick recap. Starting in November. Boston with Phoxay. As quoted from my Facebook profile page, "Boston is Awesome! Oddly enough, probably Sleepy Hollow Cemetery. First time in 3 years. And MLK day, We sent ...

Livin' la vida loca. Tuesday, June 12, 2012. Peru Parte 3: Cusco, Puno, Uros Islands, Lima. So, I guess it's time to finally finish blogging about my trip to Peru. I was kind of waiting for someone to comment on my amazing Machu Picchu post, but I guess it just wasn't good enough. Oh well. :) OK, not really. I'm just a slacker when it comes to blogging. So, after leaving Macchu Picchu, we spent an afternoon in Cusco, enjoying some more ruins and the overall ambience of the town. The city of Cusco. So, be...

Livin' la vida loca. Thursday, August 26, 2010. Camping is funner on a boat. So my last week off work, I went to Boise, Idaho to visit this little girl. This is what I look like when I wakeboard. After some excellent evening wakeboarding, with extraordinarily good water, we set up camp. And I built the fire-all by myself. It was the best fire ever. I'm pretty sure. It also happened to be Jenna's first camping experience. She loved it. Probably because I was there, and I'm her favorite aunt. OK, so it may...
