Got Shakespeare?: Bad Dreams
http://fowlesrebecca232.blogspot.com/2012/04/bad-dreams.html
A blog about my thoughts and feelings on the Shakespeare plays I am reading in a class. Friday, April 20, 2012. Last night, I had a bad dream that there was something else we were supposed to post under our reflections on the learning outcomes. It figures, because I always have school nightmares when I have had tests or it is the end of the semester. Just wanted to say one more time, thank you everybody for a wonderful experience! Have an amazing summer. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
Got Shakespeare?: March 2012
http://fowlesrebecca232.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
A blog about my thoughts and feelings on the Shakespeare plays I am reading in a class. Friday, March 30, 2012. The Play's the Thing. Love's Labor's Lost, as performed down at BYU, was set up as a radio show during the war. The question is, did this add to the theme of the play, or detract from it? Monday, March 26, 2012. The Play in Provo. Saturday, I drove down to Provo to see Love's Labor's Lost. It was very funny, and the actors were great, but that is really all I can say about it. I did not...Overa...
Got Shakespeare?: Got Shakespeare?

A blog about my thoughts and feelings on the Shakespeare plays I am reading in a class. Tuesday, April 10, 2012. As we near the end of our journey through Shakespeare in my class, I pose this question to you: Got Shakespeare? For the first time, I used Skype and I had a public blog. I have also learned about filming and editing a video. I still have more to learn about that tonight. (Yes, Kent, I will finish it by tomorrow! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). A blog about my thoughts and feelings on the Shakespeare plays I am reading in a class. Tuesday, April 10, 2012. Kent, Don't Read This! Okay, so last night I watched the video I took from the shoot. Tonight I plan to iron it out and record the introduction to the play. I can't wait to finish this project! I know it is going to be great, and I also can't wait to see what everybody else does as well! Good luck on Finals, everybody! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). The Final Meleager Video.
Got Shakespeare?: Romeo and Juliet: when was it set?
http://fowlesrebecca232.blogspot.com/2012/05/romeo-and-juliet-when-was-it-set.html
A blog about my thoughts and feelings on the Shakespeare plays I am reading in a class. Sunday, May 13, 2012. Romeo and Juliet: when was it set? Tonight, I was talking with my aunt. She said that the other day, somebody at the library asked her during which year Romeo and Juliet was set. Although she never mentioned the exact year, she did say that it is the only play which has a traceable date during which the events were meant to have occurred. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

LOVE LOOKS NOT WITH THE EYES BUT WITH THE MIND: February 2012
http://devenportkatie232.blogspot.com/2012/02
LOVE LOOKS NOT WITH THE EYES BUT WITH THE MIND. Tuesday, February 28, 2012. Is man no more than this? Ok, so these thoughts are spurred by King Lear and the discussion we had about him in class. In the play King Lear. Ok, so identity is one of the themes of King Lear. Emptiness and a sense of being unfulfilled. So what do we base our identities on? This is where it gets interesting. Why, thou wert better in thy grave than to answer. With thy uncovered body this extremity of the skies. The beast no hide.

http://devenportkatie232.blogspot.com/2012/01/if-you-prick-us-do-we-not-bleed.html
LOVE LOOKS NOT WITH THE EYES BUT WITH THE MIND. Monday, January 30, 2012. If you prick us, do we not bleed? The Merchant of Venice is brilliant. And it was so fun to be able to go watch a live performance of it on Saturday! Ha, I'm not the only one telling Shakespeare as bedtime stories! This is cute. Bring on the Shakespeare Geek's adaptation. This convinces me that telling Shakespeare stories at bed time is definitely the way to go! I thought the production was great. It did a great job of making t...

LOVE LOOKS NOT WITH THE EYES BUT WITH THE MIND: To be or not to be.
http://devenportkatie232.blogspot.com/2012/02/to-be-or-not-to-be.html
LOVE LOOKS NOT WITH THE EYES BUT WITH THE MIND. Saturday, February 11, 2012. To be or not to be. Chloe, this is for you. :). Kenneth Branagh's Hamlet is super good. The production design was especially well done. When I watched it I drew some conclusions that I thought were interesting. So the main color scheme for the film is only 3 colors: white, red, and black. Aaand black is Hamlet's discord with his surroundings. He just does not fit in with the rest of the castle because there is such a barrier...

LOVE LOOKS NOT WITH THE EYES BUT WITH THE MIND: Holy Cow, Henry V
http://devenportkatie232.blogspot.com/2012/01/holy-cow-henry-v.html
LOVE LOOKS NOT WITH THE EYES BUT WITH THE MIND. Wednesday, January 18, 2012. Holy Cow, Henry V. Ok, Henry V is incredible! Wow, Shakespeare is so good at using language. It gives you such great imagery and just the sound of it is so beautiful. It really makes you feel. Some of my favorite lines were right at the beginning of the play when King Henry V is describing war. Shall stand sore charged for the wasteful vengeance. That shall fly with them: for many a thousand widows. To whom I do appeal.". I love...

LOVE LOOKS NOT WITH THE EYES BUT WITH THE MIND: Miranda and Ferdinand--Lovers or Lusters?
http://devenportkatie232.blogspot.com/2012/01/miranda-and-ferdinand-lovers-or-lusters.html
LOVE LOOKS NOT WITH THE EYES BUT WITH THE MIND. Thursday, January 12, 2012. Miranda and Ferdinand- Lovers or Lusters? So yesterday in my Shakespeare class we briefly discussed Miranda and Ferdinand's relationship in the Tempest. It seemed to be widely perceived by the class as being a shallow infatuation. I don't think so. I was thinking about it last night and surprised myself when I realized I was still thinking about it as I woke up this morning. Illustration of the Tempest. O, I have suffered. I mean...

LOVE LOOKS NOT WITH THE EYES BUT WITH THE MIND: My Maturing Love of Shakespeare
http://devenportkatie232.blogspot.com/2012/03/my-maturing-love-of-shakespeare.html
LOVE LOOKS NOT WITH THE EYES BUT WITH THE MIND. Wednesday, March 21, 2012. My Maturing Love of Shakespeare. As I keep reading Shakespeare more and more, my respect for him just grows so much! His talent is so impressive. I really love being able to read his plays for my class because it opens up his world to me. In high school I read the common plays that everyone is familiar with, like Hamlet. And Romeo and Juliet. I think we read Julius Caesar. Right now I'm finishing off the gem Love's Labour's Lost.

LOVE LOOKS NOT WITH THE EYES BUT WITH THE MIND: A Midsummer Night's Dream
http://devenportkatie232.blogspot.com/2012/02/midsummer-nights-dream.html
LOVE LOOKS NOT WITH THE EYES BUT WITH THE MIND. Thursday, February 23, 2012. A Midsummer Night's Dream. So I read A Midsummer Night's Dream. Last week. It was sooo good! It's full of love, and confusion, and brilliant comedy. To be honest, all of the love triangles/squares remind me a bit of the college life :). Anyway, to lessen the confusion of who the main couples are during all the switcharoos, I've made some beautiful and detailed pictures to help. Really love who in the end. Ha, its on, Andrew!
