http://headquartersanv.blogspot.com/2008_06_01_archive.html
Headquarters: Army of Northern Virginia. Friday, June 27, 2008. Upon arriving back in the States after two years overseas earning a master's degree (pending thesis) in history (Middle East), I was happily reunited with all the books on Jeb Stuart that I had ordered in preparation for my biography on the good and gallant cavalry leader. This announcement that I was commencing on Stuart's biography was greeted by the same question:. Does the world really need another biography on Stuart? Address Delivered ...

News from the Foxhole. Southern Living and Getting it Right the Second Time Around. Friday, June 27, 2008. It's warm, the air is thick and humid. Trees and flowers all fully bloomed and the baby bluebirds have left the nest. Sam cleaned it out in hopes for another brood. We've been getting spotty afternoon thunderstorms, some hits, some misses so we still have to water. We are only allowed to water three days a week. The folks across the road from us have been increasing their supply of cows and calves&#...

News from the Foxhole. Southern Living and Getting it Right the Second Time Around. Wednesday, February 17, 2010. And I thought last year was cold. Ha! Am I in South Carolina or somewhere north of the Mason Dixon? Yesiree we got 6-8 inches of snow. It only lasted a day but we have had a month of nights in the twenties and that just isn't acceptable here in Dixie. I sure miss Georgia. Labels: snow in South Carolina 2010. It's a Dog's Life - Life in the Pack. Hi We are Sarge and Miss Scarlett. Wednesday, November 5, 2008. I guess being a dog has it's blessings, I don't have to worry about such things. But it makes me sad to see my people unhappy. Hopefully we'll all get through this and can go back to being a happy pack again. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Sarge and Miss Scarlett. It's a Dog's Life - Life in the Pack. Hi We are Sarge and Miss Scarlett. Monday, June 9, 2008. Of Hoses and Snakes. There sure are some strange critters in this world! Of course Miss Scarlet, immediately started her barking and circling around it to try and herd it back to it's proper spot. I joined in, only without the circling part (What's up with that anyway? That got a reaction. I never knew that our people's thing move that fast! Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Sarge and Miss Scarlett.

It's a Dog's Life - Life in the Pack. Hi We are Sarge and Miss Scarlett. Tuesday, August 26, 2008. The Green, Green Grass of Home. After the two days were up and we could go out again, Scarlett and I immediately noticed that our yard had changed. There was all this soft, green stuff all over the ground where there used to be sand. It felt wonderful under our paws and it was soooo much fun to roll around in! These areas are full of exciting things to find, medium size sticks and hoppy animals that like to...

It's a Dog's Life - Life in the Pack: Those Lazy, Hazy, Crazy Days of Summer
http://snippyandsamwolf.blogspot.com/2009/08/those-lazy-hazy-crazy-days-of-summer.html
It's a Dog's Life - Life in the Pack. Hi We are Sarge and Miss Scarlett. Sunday, August 2, 2009. Those Lazy, Hazy, Crazy Days of Summer. I can only dream about a water hole like this. Other than my white, indoor water dispenser, the only water hole Scarlet and I have to romp or relax in isn't big enough for the both of us at the same time. Maybe we can get this Oh-bomb-ah guy we hear so much about to get us a bigger water hole, he seems to be promising everything to everyone else. Sarge and Miss Scarlett.

Headquarters: Army of Northern Virginia: September 2008
http://headquartersanv.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html
Headquarters: Army of Northern Virginia. Tuesday, September 30, 2008. General Orders Twenty Six. Last night I received a passionate and detailed set of answers to the questions I asked yesterday, which alerted me to the fact that I wasn't as precise as I had thought I had been. The questions were rhetorical. They represent, what I believe, the wrong "impressions" (using Dowdy's word) that exist in the war's historiography regarding Stuart. For any confusion, I apologize. Monday, September 29, 2008. Cliff...

Headquarters: Army of Northern Virginia. Saturday, March 29, 2008. General Orders Number Ten. But I stumbled across something in Mr. Robertson's book that fired me up. On page 366, in the chapter about the Valley Campaign, Mr. Robertson writes,. Jackson doubtless cleared the operation with Lee, who must have felt some unspoken doubts.". Opinion can very easily become fact in the mind of the readers. That Jackson cleared the operation with Lee. Neither does he cite any proof. That Lee had unspoken doubts&...
