Tuesday, 28 May 2013. We had driven to a hotel actually next to the airport the night before as we had a very early flight! Up at 04.50; 3 minutes to the airport; check in etc. Next thing we knew, it was 10.45 and we were in Madrid. We dropped our bags off and went for a wander as it was still only about 12 O’clock. Wednesday, 22 May 2013. We had a good trip up - thanks Steve! Followed by a good flight and train journey to the city centre. Our hotel was smart and comfortable and in a fantastic position (just off the Kudamm) for getting wherever we wanted to go. Wednesday, 11 March 2009. Flying Foxes at Mount Doom! From Napier we drove over to Lake Taupo where we were met by hundreds of people on bikes and road closures. It was Ironman 09, a major NZ Triathlon. A bit of a worry but the information centre found us a great little motel just by the lake with a dairy (they mean corner shop! Friday, 3 August 2012. Golden Gate Park Day 3 San Francisco. Today we visited Golden Gate Park. This is an enormous, but "bitty" park with main roads crossing it and lots of museums and gardens that need to be paid for! A lot of walking but very pretty.
