Some Parisians have even been forbidden by their neighbors from running their clothes dryers on Sundays. Or, and here's my top suggestion, try one of the markets that are open in the afternoon. I like the covered, open-air book market in the bottom of the 15th arrondissement, which is open every weekend and specialises in used and antiquarian books.
