Analog Dog: September 2013
http://analog-dog.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
Tuesday, September 10, 2013. Walnuts are not just for eating. They're for inking, too! Some goodies came in today from a good friend who shopped online with me. (yay! There's a couple of inks,. And a few nibs to try out and play with. I'm usually more excited about nibs, but today, i was most curious about the walnut ink. probably because it's my first time to try ink that wasn't liquid yet. it's in crystal form that should be dissolved in water. i guess the 'play' factor there is the plus. I liked the w...

Analog Dog: Inks
http://analog-dog.blogspot.com/p/inks.html
Photos to come soon ]. What are fountain pens without the ink? They wouldn't be writing instruments without it. So predictably, with the FP collecting comes the ink collecting also. They may seem like an afterthought to the pen but it is I am slowly realizing that they can form an obsession of itself. These are the ones in my drawers, thus far. Will put up links as I write up my thoughts on them. These come in 30 colors the 1670 Limited Edition, makes 31 colors. The J. Herbin website is here. In Which Ch...

Analog Dog: April 2011
http://analog-dog.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
Saturday, April 9, 2011. Understated performer: the Lamy 2000. I can also entitle this blog entry as : Sometimes, A Girl Gets Lucky. Because an acquaintance and fellow photographer, Rolly Magpayo, saw the post and he thought it might be a good idea to ask me if i wanted to buy his hardly-used Lamy 2000, for almost a third of its market price. .and it's a price that would not normally be in my range. The minimalist, modern classic Lamy 2000 with the pen capped. And released in 1966, it remains in producti...

Analog Dog: October 2011
http://analog-dog.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
Saturday, October 15, 2011. Long story short, i hit the Buy It Now button and set down for the wait. the rangefinder was shipping from Ukraine which was closer to me than the US so i thought it might come in sooner, but it did not. but hey, it finally arrived yesterday! It looked even better than the seller's photos! Heck, it was love at first sight! Isn't that camera just, oh so, vintage sexy? Or is it just me? A member from the RF forum, Martin, called that beautiful color oxblood red. But i just thoug...

Analog Dog: May 2012
http://analog-dog.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html
Wednesday, May 16, 2012. Most fountain pen aficionados would know what would motivate a pen. Lover to experiment with something not natural to a pen engineered with a modern filling system and convert it to a primitive eyedropper-style pen. but for those wondering why, it is usually because of 3 simple reasons:. I like seeing all that beautiful colored ink moving around in a demonstrator (clear) pen barrel. Just for the fun of it. What else are you going to do with a pen except write? Texted in. i ev...

Analog Dog: the incredible Bulk
http://analog-dog.blogspot.com/2011/12/incredible-bulk.html
Thursday, December 15, 2011. Uhhh, FILM, that is. 100-ft. bulk film roll. If you are inclined to explore film photography, you might start feeling the expense and the lack of choices when it comes, at least, to the more popular 135 form. here is where acquiring film in bulk may come in handy. And some reloadable film cartridges. December 16, 2011 at 8:14 AM. I think youll find the HP5 a better film than Tri-X. December 16, 2011 at 8:39 AM. Thanks for the tip Bill M! Im liking the HP5 thus far. ive al...

Analog Dog: the impressive TWSBI Diamond 540
http://analog-dog.blogspot.com/2012/02/impressive-twsbi-diamond-540.html
Saturday, February 11, 2012. The impressive TWSBI Diamond 540. Even the packaging was impressive. It looked expensive and well-made. (but it costs just US$50.00 before shipping). i also find those 2 clear, plastic "anchors" that latches the pen very securely in its box pretty cool. there was even a wrench and a small bottle of silicone grease underneath that white hood. impressive, eh? Down below or click the link. To watch on youtube. My unboxing video * *. Labels: fountain pens TWSBI writecast. Thanks ...

A love for fountain pens, inks, and handwriting - Peninkcillin: J Herbin Vert Olive ink review
http://peninkcillin.blogspot.com/2011/03/j-herbin-vert-olive-ink-review.html
Bitten by the fountain pen and ink bug, I'm fighting my addiction by blogging about it! Ink Reviews by Color. Ink Reviews by Brand. How To / DIY. Wednesday, March 16, 2011. J Herbin Vert Olive ink review. And now for something different. I'm not certain what drove me to buy this ink but I believe I wanted a more subdued and lighter shade of green than Noodler's Gruene Cactus. One that I wouldn't have to use for writing. In a nutshell, I love Vert Olive. If you want to find out why, read on. Speaking of o...
