Il paese - la storia - Fra Diavolo. Fra' diavolo (Itri 1771, Napoli 1806). Fra' Diavolo è sicuramente il personaggio nato a Itri più noto al mondo. Il suo vero nome è Michele Pezza, deve il suo soprannome ad un maestro che lo apostrofò. Perché lo faceva disperare e all'abito da frate che la madre gli fece indossare da piccolo come voto per una grazia ricevuta.
