Travels in France and Italy. Family Summer in Europe – 2013 Sabbatical. July 31 Trip Home. August 4, 2013. Another spectacular drive through Switzerland. We opted out of buying the annual toll road pass for 33 Swiss Franks, which meant we had a 2-hour drive from Haag to the Zurich Airport, vs the 1-hour 15 minute toll road route, which was actually significantly longer. But I’m glad we did this the road winds through open valleys and narrow ravines, with breathtaking views around every turn.

After unloading, dropping the car at a garage nearby just outside the Vatican, and grabbing a quick lunch, we spent the afternoon and evening exploring our neighborhood in Rome.
