Thursday, 23 April 2015. Day four of the icon course. Today is all about the face, putting in tone, contour, flesh, warmth, expression. Wednesday, 22 April 2015. Day three of the icon course. So the robes are finished, now onto the HAIR. Lots of layers of different browns and ochre. Here is my testers of different browns,. Burnt umber, raw umber, yellow ochre, burnt sienna,. Next onto the skin tones. Starting with the darkest tone of Avana Ochre. Then onto orange, and then shades of yellow. More layers and layers. Tuesday, 31 July 2012. Whooosh and they are off. I've been putting it off, hoping it will go away and generally avoiding the issue but it just has to be done - I really must just stop Dressing A Girl Around the World. I started this project just over a month ago and I honestly believe I could actually go on and on. Upcycling odds and ends of fabric and bigger dresses can be awkward and frustrating but, turns out, overcoming the various challenges is all part of the fun. As is always the way with upcycling.
