I have always been drawn to the human form, for its shape, colour and texture that varies greatly through light and shadow. Enjoying the contrast between dark and light and a lot go my work emphasises this. When translating the human form into my art work i enjoy various materials. I love the texture and colours achieved through painting, whether using strong chunky acrylic paints, or drippy fluid water colours. Large pen sketch, using vibrant strong colours and patterns. These have inspired the work seen through her ceramic sculptures and paintings. Body adornments. pre 2009. Felt inserts, which when removed connect in various ways to create decorative, wearable art. The felt pieces connect by invisible magnets built into the felt, allowing the wearer to arange them in any pattern they wish. 2007 Silver bracelet, with various 'clasps' which can be interchanged depending on the wearers decision. Friday, 13 May 2011. Pyramid Teapot and cups. Usually within my work I explore natural objects for inspiration. For my 4 week ceramics module for first year I decided to focus on stiffer more structured forms, finally deciding on the pyramids. I opted for the focus to be on the shape and finish on the pieces rather than my usual love of colour. Cutting slabs with homemade measuring gauge. Working with leather hard slabs, sturdier but still maliable. Using homemade cheesewire, 45 degree angle cutter.
