7 Months in Brittany

7 Months in Brittany. Thursday, November 19, 2009. Paris, Part II. Ok, still catching up with the present here. If the lack of extemporaneity bothers you, you can pretend this is an exciting postmodern experiment and feel intellectual when you tells your friends that you follow a travel blog that brashly kicks to the curb traditional narrative structure. I sampled the classic Gallic delicacy, frozen lasagna. I’ll describe the rest of the walk and my Paris visit next time. Friday, October 2, 2009. In case...

7 Months in Brittany: Leaving

http://www.francetravellog.blogspot.com/2009/10/leaving.html

7 Months in Brittany. Friday, October 2, 2009. Well, the day I left seems like a major blur now. My mom and I had lunch, and we came across a surprise neighborhood festival in Allston Center, with marching bands and everything! It was a pretty cool note to leave on. On the way back, our car got hit by a girl reading a map. Don’t read and drive, folks. Unless it’s a street sign. Then my dad picked me up for the airport and I was off. The flight was great. I know, right? Who says that, ever?

7 Months in Brittany. Friday, October 2, 2009. Où est la Bibliothèque? I found the library! In case you can't tell, I'm thrilled. I love libraries. Also, now I have a place to access the Internet that's a little more peaceful than the teachers' room at school. The library here has a really impressive collection of CDs and films, which I'm also very excited about. The book selection (and graphic novels- great for learners! It's supposed to only be free for students (16 EUR subscription otherwise! I had re...

Anna in la Belle France: October 2009

http://annainlabellefrance.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html

Anna in la Belle France. Living in France (and teaching English too). Sunday, October 18, 2009. Protests, Paintings and Markets. After class I finished up my social security paperwork and job paperwork - so now I officially have health insurance and might actually get paid by the end of October! As I was walking toward the city center I was stopped by a man who handed me a sack with an apple, an onion and a whole bunch of wheat grains. Then he asked me to sign some form - I said I was American and he...

http://annainlabellefrance.blogspot.com/2010/05/sorry-for-delay.html

Anna in la Belle France. Living in France (and teaching English too). Friday, May 21, 2010. Sorry for the delay. So, a very short post to say that the vacation was amazing! 160;Now, I'm back in reality and dealing with closing out bank accounts (or not), and the CAF and all the other things that I signed up for. It's going surprisingly easy, but there is a ton to do. So, I'll do my vest best to finish the blog entry I started about my travels, but don't hold your breath! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Anna in la Belle France: January 2010

http://annainlabellefrance.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html

Anna in la Belle France. Living in France (and teaching English too). Wednesday, January 20, 2010. And I have a serious case of the blahs. The snow has stopped, it's a little warmer (outside at least, but I'll get to that in a minute) but the rain and the general apathy is just really putting a damper on my post Christmas and NYE high. Except this week I got paid €13 plus a Turkish coin which looks exactly like a €2 coin - the good news: it's my first piece of Turkish money! The class I have yesterday mo...

Anna in la Belle France. Living in France (and teaching English too). Wednesday, November 25, 2009. This morning I woke up to see cute little Razu all cuddled up on the floor pillows that I bought:. But the noise of the camera woke him up - so then I got to listen to the meows of a hungry cat for a bit. This is a better view of the church behind me. It was taken from my bathroom window/skylight:. I love living in France and I love my apartment oh, so much! Tuesday, November 24, 2009. My first class - who...

Anna in la Belle France. Living in France (and teaching English too). Tuesday, December 15, 2009. First of all, it's snowed the last two nights. So cool! This is the first time in, literally, years that I've seen snowfall around Christmas time. Second, Seamus, Caitlin and her cousin and I all took an unplanned trip to Paris on Saturday. The city at Christmas? But the highlight, by far and away was this:. Ice skating in front of the Eiffel Tower. So awesome I can't even describe it. I’d meet you at ...
