To France with Lance. Saturday, June 30, 2012. We're settling in to Le Chateau de Mazan. Our base for the next week. It's a beautiful little hotel in the heart of Mazan. After checking in, we attended to our bikes. Lance and Rob had them 99% reassembled. Just the pedals, which we packed in our carry-on, needed to be installed. Tomorrow morning we'll take them for a spin in the valley around Mazan to make sure everything is working properly before heading onto the high mountain. Friday, June 29, 2012.

To France with Lance. Saturday, July 21, 2012. The Rides (Maps and Profiles). We rode more than 330 miles and 30,000 feet of climbing during our two weeks in France. Here are maps and profiles of the nine fabulous rides routes (and two shorter rides to see the Tour de France). The routes were challenging and fun and very safe. Even at 5 mph, we never encountered an aggressive driver or angry horn. I wish North American drivers were as patient and polite as French drivers. Route 1: Mazan Warmup Ride.
