Stuff I like an' that. Friday, 29 May 2015. On Tuesday TFC drove down to beautiful Hebden Bridge. Last Of The Summer Wine country. The Trades Club. Is a characterful venue looked after by people that like their job. We coudn't get into the dressing room downstairs until the local Tai Chi class had finished. After soundcheck I had half a pint of Pennines Gold (recommended) and some nice grub prepared by the venue's Tibetan chef. I walked up a steep cobbled road to Heptonstall. After the gig we were invite...

Stuff I like an' that. Friday, 31 July 2015. The embargo is lifted. Building Jerusalem" is my first feature-length film soundtrack project. It tells the story of Jonny Wilkinson and Co. beating Australia in Australia in 2003 allowing England to become the first northern hemisphere team to win the rugby World Cup. I loved working on this. It's a dramatic story with engaging talking heads. Editor Michael Nollet was great to work with; as were Polar Patrol Publishing. Links to this post. Links to this post.

http://francismacdonald.blogspot.com/2015/08/berberian-sound-studio-and-peebles.html
Stuff I like an' that. Monday, 17 August 2015. Berberian Sound Studio and Peebles Agricultural Show. I finally got to see Berberian Sound Studio. And was glad I did. Not a comfortable watch. And I don't know that my understanding of it would fit with the director's vision. And I wished I had seen it properly in the cinema. And. The person who began watching it with me had a pretty strong negative reaction to it, inviting a lively debate. But life would be dull if we all thought the same way. I make music...
