Frank Gardner was born and raised in Poughkeepsie, New York. He graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1986 with a BFA in Painting. A desire to find true inspiration for his paintings eventually led him to relocate to Mexico in 1990. His studio is in San Miguel de Allende, where he resides with his wife and daughter. Gardner is represented by several fine galleries in the US and Mexico and his work is part of numerous fine collections across North America and Europe. Peninsula School of Art.

Marina's Painting a Day. Wednesday, February 15, 2012. Because of the high humidity, the mountain range is very blue. I painted it as such, but thought it was too strong, and did a quick repaint, lightening up the blue. I think it is better. Unfortunately it was just painting paper and I tore the paper.but the learning was worth the exercise. Labels: 6 x 6 acrylic on canvas. So, Marina, do you often paint on paper? I often have issues with how blue or purple the far mountains should be. You did well.

It was awarded 2nd place out of 120 paintings! 14"x 11" oil plein air (sold). This was the first one I did for plein air Camp Hill.
