Wednesday's Korner: End of Year Review
http://wednesdayskorner.blogspot.com/2014/12/end-of-year-review.html
Friday, December 26, 2014. End of Year Review. I'm sorry for not posting more often this year. Work piles up and writing more at the end of the day gets to be difficult. I did have time to review two shows of Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. You can read those reviews in the August 2014 issue of RE/Search's newsletter. Here are a few other events, TV shows, and memorable moments I enjoyed over this past year (no order, just a list). Live (can't wait for Season 2). Art exhibit at The Getty. Film Trip to Italy.

30 Days to Getting Over the Dork You USED to Call a Boyfriend: December 2007
http://gettingoverthedork.blogspot.com/2007_12_01_archive.html
Thursday, December 13, 2007. The Gossip : Careless Whisper. I'm never gonna dance again. Guilty feet have got no rhythm. Though it's easy to pretend. I know you're not a fool. The Gossip, "Careless Whisper". It's George Michael week here at the blog. Beth Ditto is as formidable a character as Rufus (see yesterday) and she tackles this song with her own brand of ruthless dancability. It's a whole new song! And yet, still an homage to the bad behavior that lurks in all night dance clubs. Yip yip yippee!

Monday, January 28, 2008. Dent May and His Magnificent Ukelele : When You Were Mine. When you were mine. I gave you all of my money. You done me wrong. Dent May and His Magnificent Ukelele, "When You Were Mine". On a related note to my book (but not to this post) I recently was a guest on more than a dozen radio programs promoting 30 DAYS TO GETTING OVER THE DORK YOU USED TO CALL YOUR BOYFRIEND. Okay you probably really don't want to. It's um, painful. I love my brother. More about Dent May. Think of it ...

http://gettingoverthedork.blogspot.com/2008/01/julie-feeney-you-bring-me-down-i-need.html
Friday, January 04, 2008. Julie Feeney : You Bring Me Down. I need to catch the bee in your bonnet. Turn it inside out with you on it. Julie Feeney, "You Bring Me Down". Julie Feeney is an Irish singer songwriter who used to perform (as a singer, not a dancer) with Riverdance. But don't hold that against her. She's actually got a very quirky and loverly sound. She's also an elementary school teacher, or at least she went to school and graduated as one. Cute, no? Posted by Are We There Yet? Since music to...

Wednesday, January 31, 2007. Peter, Bjorn and John : Let's Call It Off. When you decided to knock on my door. Did you remember what happened before? It just didn't sparkle, it just didn't grow. Some things are better to leave unexplored. Peter, Bjorn and John, "Let's Call It Off". Was in fact: "Somethings look better inside of the store" —. And I like my version better. More about Peter, Bjorn and John. Full lyrics to this song. Posted by Are We There Yet? Labels: Music for Your Achy-Breaky Heart. After ...

(sm)all ages: Hey Mister
http://smallages.blogspot.com/2007/01/hey-mister.html
Wednesday, January 31, 2007. My daughter has been walking around going, "Hey Mister, you're fired" in this weird New Jersey accent. We're unsure of where both the accent and the phrase came from as we are fairly certain she hasn't been watching The Apprentice. Here are some Mister songs, many I have posted before, but still. Optigonally Yours, "Mr. Wilson". Such a good song for the kids, this is one of Rob Crow's. Asylum Street Spankers, "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch". The Kinks, "Mr. Songbird". And we ...

♥♥lit crush♥♥: June 2008
http://litcrush.blogspot.com/2008_06_01_archive.html
Hearts;♥lit crush♥♥. What really knocks me out is a book, when you're all done reading it, you wished the author that wrote it was a terrific friend of yours and you could call him up on the phone whenever you felt like it. Tuesday, June 24, 2008. Friday I wrote about what I perceived as a lack of "round" female characters in young adult fiction, with the assumption that I'd counter that post with examples from my recent reading of female-oriented novels, including Speak. And The Lovely Bones. Address th...
