                        The Missionary Journey: February 2011
http://fraserfamilyblog.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html
Missions, theology, and apologetics. Monday, February 28, 2011. The problem with Ehrman (part 1). Thursday, February 10, 2011. On the authenticity of the Gospels and Acts. The answer is that it doesn't. 8220;The agnostic type of form-criticism would be much more credible if the compilation of the Gospels were much later in time, much more remote from the events themselves, than can be the case.”. Tuesday, February 1, 2011. Roman Society and Roman Law in the New Testament. After an introductory paragraph,...
The Missionary Journey: March 2009
http://fraserfamilyblog.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
Missions, theology, and apologetics. Tuesday, March 17, 2009. Lies and Statistics (part 2). Why is all of this important? Monday, March 16, 2009. I was interested to find an article. Recently about the state of religious belief and denominations in the U.S. based on the recently released American Religious Identification Survey. Thursday, March 12, 2009. There just seems to be something profoundly wrong with an arrangement like this. What would Paul say to today’s celebrity pastors? Sunday, March 1, 2009.
The Missionary Journey: The problem with Ehrman (part 1)
http://fraserfamilyblog.blogspot.com/2011/02/problem-with-ehrman-part-1.html
Missions, theology, and apologetics. Monday, February 28, 2011. The problem with Ehrman (part 1). So god carefully inspired the authors of the New Testament to write exactly what he intended but when it came to the scribes who copied them god was apparently too busy playing chess with the angels to really bother himself, right? Is that the argument? God made sure all the important parts were copied correctly but he didnt feel the need to sweat the details so to speak. Ah, yes, that makes perfect sense.
The Missionary Journey: February 2009
http://fraserfamilyblog.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
Missions, theology, and apologetics. Monday, February 23, 2009. Are missionaries really misallocated? I have often heard it stated that foreign missionaries are a misallocated resource. It has been pointed out that most foreign missionaries are sent to areas of the world which are already evangelized or Christianized. According to the Center for the Study of Global Christianity. The same as ours? Who else would conquer a city by marching around the walls for seven days, conquer an invading army by whittl...
The Missionary Journey: June 2009
http://fraserfamilyblog.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html
Missions, theology, and apologetics. Saturday, June 6, 2009. Another atheist comes back home. On another internet site I came across some posts by a former atheist from the U.K. who had actually served as the director of the Rationalist Press Association for almost 10 years, as well as a one-year stint as the president of the National Secular Society. He gives the following reasons for his return to Christianity after 20 years as a hardened atheist:. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.

The Missionary Journey Archives: Why there almost certainly is a God
http://missionaryjourneyarchives.blogspot.com/2008/10/why-there-almost-certainly-is-god.html
The Missionary Journey Archives. Archived posts from my previous blog, "Journal of a Missionary" for those who might be interested in further thoughts and reflections on apologetics and philosophy. Why there almost certainly is a God. I enjoyed listening to the podcast of the debate between Keith Ward and Robert Stovold (well, not really a debate I guess, more like an informal exchange). Ward focused on the distinction between "scientific" explanations and other kinds of explanation.

The Missionary Journey Archives. Archived posts from my previous blog, "Journal of a Missionary" for those who might be interested in further thoughts and reflections on apologetics and philosophy. What evidence were you expecting, anyways? The atheist philosopher Bertrand Russell was famously asked what he would say if after he died he found himself standing before the God in whose existence he did not believe, and God asked him, “why didn’t you believe in me? The Missionary Journey Archives. Archived posts from my previous blog, "Journal of a Missionary" for those who might be interested in further thoughts and reflections on apologetics and philosophy. But can an NDE transform a skeptic? One philosopher, Neal Grossman, was arguing with a committed naturalist about NDEs. Beauregard and O’Leary record the exchange thusly:. Exasperated, I asked, “What will it take, short of having a near-death experience yourself, to convince you that it’s real? Very nonchalant...

The Missionary Journey Archives. Archived posts from my previous blog, "Journal of a Missionary" for those who might be interested in further thoughts and reflections on apologetics and philosophy. Free will and the mind-body problem. Isn't it more reasonable to say the radio is simply the instrument or conduit that makes it possible for us to hear those sound waves? The brain may well be the necessary vehicle for mental activitity. It does not follow that brains and minds are identical.". One big proble...

The Missionary Journey Archives: Is naturalism a rational belief?
http://missionaryjourneyarchives.blogspot.com/2008/10/is-naturalism-rational-belief.html
The Missionary Journey Archives. Archived posts from my previous blog, "Journal of a Missionary" for those who might be interested in further thoughts and reflections on apologetics and philosophy. Is naturalism a rational belief? Skeptics often assert that belief in God is irrational. This is a little hard for a theologian to understand, given the abundance of apparently sound arguments for God's existence. But I believe there's a better question than "is belief in God rational? Just to clarify, here I'...

Would these apostles of good hygiene have then been responsible to take that message to the Romans, and would the Romans have been expected to adopt it themselves? A bit of ...

Saturday, May 26, 2012. Well, we've moved from Punta Gorda to North Port. It's closer to work for everyone and we will get better gas mileage. It is really convenient to everything as well. We are only a few miles north of Port Charlotte and closer to Venice as well. We like it so far. This area reminds us of North Central Florida for some reason. Maybe it's the pine trees and the woodsy areas. We have well water too which saves on paying for city water. All in all, I think it was a good move. Here's a p...
