Exploring the dropped stitches and unfinished sweaters of life. About The Frayed Yarn. Laquo; Workday Weekends. Posted June 4, 2010 by Hillory in Garden. I just dispatched a 1.5″ centipede to a watery afterlife and I’ve seen more praying mantids out here than I can count. Who needs Costa Rica when I’ve got ground squirrels and quail and urban deer running around? Must run outside to enjoy momentary sunbreak, my leafy green tendrils are hungry for it. Exploring the dropped stitches and unfinished sweaters of life. About The Frayed Yarn. Laquo; Commence Blogging. Posted April 29, 2010 by Hillory in Garden. Due at least in part to my move to a semi-rural area I think I’m beginning to go native. I drive a giant tractor and run deliveries in a small dump truck. I subscribed to Mother Earth Magazine. I finally own a. Touring kayak and if it would ever stop freaking raining the put-in is only five minutes from my house. 4 responses to this post. Hill, IR...

Exploring the dropped stitches and unfinished sweaters of life. About The Frayed Yarn. Laquo; Weather Event. Posted May 19, 2010 by Hillory in Uncategorized. I whined and grumped and moaned about giving up my Sundays to work. I’m still trying to figure out how I can get out of working that sliver of weekend all summer. The silver lining is that I can take off on glorious weekdays to drive places like this:. Back at work today, it’s been pouring. I’ve had to execute two freakishly large sp...My sister acc...

My only real self-critique involves cramming a little too much into a compact gardening space, but damn they’re turning out pretty even if they are all elbow to leafy elbow. Trikotajci means "Knitter" in Turkish. Wednesday, April 30, 2008. I found this blog. Today in my searching for cool stuff. It's in Turkish, but the knitting stuff is beautiful! Just like a smile, knitting says the same thing in any language. Tuesday, April 29, 2008. I finished a sock! I am finally finished with one of the Winter Socks on Magic Loop. It was so easy, I can't believe I didn't start socks six months ago! I'm very happy with it, and it actually fits too! Tuesday, April 22, 2008. 8 GANGSTA NAM...

Trikotajci means "Knitter" in Turkish. Sunday, January 11, 2009. Last night we say Gran Torino. Clint Eastwood played Walt, a recent widower. He has lived in the same neighborhood for a very long time, and has watched it change over the years. Now it is mostly populated by the Hmong, and having been in the Korean War, Walt has his own distorted prejudices about these people. Awesome on going to yoga. I've been to yoga once in my life, and it kicked my a$! I was sore for days! January 12, 2009 at 11:53 AM.

Diaries of the Chronically UnPrepared. The tales of a perpetual procrastinator caught at a crossroads. Wednesday, December 30, 2009. A Reflection on 2009. Wow What a year. As I previously wrote, we are in the midst of moving. In two days the movers (yes, the movers, apparently we are fancy.or lazy.or overwhelmed by the prospect of moving five years worth of accumulation down three flights of stairs and up two, with a baby) will be here and they will take all of our stuff to Wallingford. Sometimes it has ...

Diaries of the Chronically UnPrepared. The tales of a perpetual procrastinator caught at a crossroads. Tuesday, June 23, 2009. The original intention on this blog was to have something to do instead of homework. Its summer break, so I have nothing to put off. I suppose I could blame it on the baby, but he goes to sleep at 7:30 and pretty much stays that way for eleven hours.I hope writing that didn't just jinx us! Anyway, I could easily blog once he goes to bed, but I just haven't. Links to this post.

Diaries of the Chronically UnPrepared. The tales of a perpetual procrastinator caught at a crossroads. Wednesday, May 12, 2010. Holy crap. Babies can really suck the individuality out of a person. It seems to me that there is nothing more draining on a person than the demands of a new born child. The diapers and the nursing and the diapers and the nursing and the diapers and the nursing. There certainly isn't a ton of time for other pursuits. I also started and internship at the Vera Project. I am su...

Diaries of the Chronically UnPrepared. The tales of a perpetual procrastinator caught at a crossroads. Friday, July 24, 2009. How can a person not be grateful for this beautiful face? We have such a wonderful little boy. I am working on being appreciative and expressing gratitude for the .what is the right word? If I were a religious person, I would call him a miracle, even a blessing. But I'm not. What would be the atheistic version of that word? Either way, Reed is fantastic. Links to this post.

Diaries of the Chronically UnPrepared. The tales of a perpetual procrastinator caught at a crossroads. Sunday, November 18, 2012. And all of a sudden, two years had passed. That was at least five years away in the plan. So, finding myself completely unprepared for parenthood, I started this blog. Since then, I finished graduate school and raised that baby into a thriving toddler. Not bad for being unprepared for both. It's twins. What? I'm planning on using this blog to keep myself accountable on my new ...

Honda Magna Timing Chain Tensioners. If you have small hands it is possible to replace the front tensioner without removing the carbs, but you'll have much better access if you do remove them. The rear tensioner can be tricky to get to as well as it is far up behind the engine. Give yourself some time if you haven't done this before. I found pretty good prices at Partzilla.com. Though their shipping isn't the fastest. Here's what I paid in April of 2013:. I like analog clocks, always have. You are in an ...

ENVIRONMENT. ECONOMICS. ENERGY. DEVELOPMENT. Monday, July 8, 2013. DC cyclists: Fines for skipping red lights coming. We all knew that it was coming. 1 I couldn't get away from traffic at the lights by going a little before them. More dangerous for me and more annoying for them. It is especially scary when cars need to turn right soon after lights and cut right in front or right behind you. Still, I am going to keep watching. For those interested, it was just north of Du Pont Circle. I don't think th...
