Mina Murray's Jounal - August 1st. Mina and Lucy have a macabre conversation with Mina's old friend. He makes jokes that drowned sailors would never return to their Whitby graves when Judgement day arrives. He even jokes that one grave, one that Lucy has rested herself upon, is the grave of a suicide. The old man laughs that the deceased man would never get into heaven not even if he dragged his false grave stone to the gates as proof. I wish he were here. I've been fascinated by White Moustache yogurt for the past few weeks. I would see it on the shelves at my local organic store and it would intrigue me. When I finally broke down and paid for it (sooooo expensive), I was amazed how great it tasted. It tasted like no other yogurt on the market. It was thick but extremely creamy. Mina Murray's Journal - August 10th. Perhaps he had seen Death with his dying eyes! Already Dracula's presence is being felt. He has killed Mina's old friend. Lucy is struggling under his thrall. It is interesting that a local man's dog is too frightened to approach the grave of the Demeter's captain. Mina Murray's Journal - August 6th. Mina is deeply worried about Jonathan. Meanwhile her old friend appears and apologizes to her regarding his conversation of the other day. He was worried that he upset her. He explains that he is old and knows that death could occur for him at any time. He needs to joke about it in order to keep lighthearted. Nostalgia is a foreign concept to me. I don't seek out music specifically to remind me of a time in the past. What I like are songs that seem to raise themselves out of their time period. The very fact that they transcend being time placeholders is attractive. Serenade, Agon and Symphony in C - New York City Ballet. NYCB is in prime condition now with loads of talent at all levels. As it is probably known by now, I'm not a big Russian ballet dancer fan. It is not that I deny their superb training nor classical tradition. What I dislike is their tendency to rest on those laurels. Their training teaches certain basic style foibles that now look stale and chi chi. Not only that, sometimes I wonder how physically healthy it is to incline the head in such an exaggerated fashion.
