Waffle Dish Cloths - tutorial - Freda's Hive
http://fredashive.blogspot.com/2009/04/waffle-dish-cloths-tutorial.html
Waffle Dish Cloths - tutorial. Waffle Dish Cloths - tutorial. A while ago I bought some white waffle cloth. When I made dish towels last year I thought it would be good to make some dish cloths too, but I ran out of time. I finally took an evening a couple weeks ago to make these dish cloths and it was really easy and fun. I've since found out that (of course) I'm not the first to make these waffle dish cloths. Lynn. Thanks Lynn) let me know that Amanda Jean. I just sewed the strip on the waffle cloth li...

http://fredashive.blogspot.com/2014/05/august-sept-sew-ittoday-new-project.html
August-Sept Sew-It.today New Project. August-Sept Sew-It.today New Project. I really like working with the people at Sew-It.today. Magazine. Recently they asked me to submit another project for the August-September issue. I made a kitchen project for the magazine. Picking out fabrics for my projects is one of my favorite parts of any design. I like to bind smaller projects by machine and keep my hand binding for larger quilts. Here is proof that I'm actually sewing. Jane's Fabrics and Quilts. May 18, 201...

I actually MADE something this past weekend. I actually MADE something this past weekend. I wanted to sew this past weekend even if it was only for a short time. I have plenty of projects I could have dug back into but my brain and hands were wanting something else. I love strawberries and it pretty much is the season with berries shipped here from California. So what could be better than a strawberry block? I love your strawberry! April 27, 2015 at 8:07 PM. April 27, 2015 at 8:33 PM. Yay - youre back!

http://fredashive.blogspot.com/2008/08/v-c-t-i-o-n-in-summer-time.html
V-A-C-A-T-I-O-N in the summer time. V-A-C-A-T-I-O-N in the summer time. We're back. We've been off having fun in the mountains of Idaho/Wyoming. That may not sound very impressive but we have been having a great time in a beautiful valley. I used the dealyed post feature in blogger to make a couple posts while I was gone. Anyway, we were guests at a private 850 ranch with family. This is the view from the cabin we stayed in. The weather was great - warm and sunny in the day and cool at night. Brought ove...
"Doll House" Potholder Tutorial - Freda's Hive
http://fredashive.blogspot.com/2009/01/doll-house-potholder-tutorial.html
Doll House" Potholder Tutorial. Doll House" Potholder Tutorial. My previous house block I called a Cottage block. I decided to name this new house block pattern "Doll House". It is taller and smaller than the cottages and just reminded me of a little doll house. The block seemed like a perfect size for a pot holder but the Doll House could be applied to other crafts or quilt blocks. It was really fun picking out fabric for each house and as with the cottages I enjoyed making each one unique. You can fuss...

Monday, March 11, 2013. Calicodaisy on the porch! Just in time for new spring decor, there's an outdoor fabrics option at the calicodaisy shop. Both with and without embroidery. The range of outdoor fabrics is nearly as marvelous as inside home decor. Shown here is the classic calicodaisy look in solid shades of outdoor canvas. Due to marvelous sales this early 2013 and the need for a good spring cleaning around the house and studio, the calicodaisy shop. Is on hiatus this week until Thursday or Friday&#...

Friday, February 22, 2013. And now she knits. Small dream come true! This gal's got her gauge on! Previous to these blogging years, I was completely satisfied being very good with the crochet hook and believed my gauge was just too tight to knit well. How times change! As usual, one project isn't enough, so I searched around Ravelry. And have so many favorites but decided on this. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. And now she knits. New and fun products. Pin cushions and tins. August 27, 2008. Me know, me do! Believe it or not, I did not become an excellent sewer/patchworker/crocheter/crafting profesh overnight and suprisingly I am still not fantastic. But I do my darndest to look like I know what Im doing. Sometimes when Master Chris is explaining something to me I nod like I understand but in my head I can only hear Drop the Pilot by Joan Armatrading. Worsted: the worst yarn you can buy. Basting: job for the sunday roast. I let Da...

Sunday, February 28, 2010. I grew up hearing, "There are only two kinds of people, the Irish and those who wish they were." I guess I am really Irish. How else do you explain that I had all of this green fabric (plus more) and 4 yards each of 2 different leprechaun prints? Really Irish or really crazy. Friday, February 26, 2010. Remembering Fred
Words and images to honor Fred Ashby Bennett (1919-2004). Sunday, March 1, 2009. Purpose of this Blog. The Book of Mormon starts out with the words "I Nephi, having been born of goodly parents.". I know that my husband, Larry, was most definitely born of goodly parents. They were remarkable people who worked hard, had strong faith and raised their family well. It has been an honor to be welcomed into their family. This post will serve as an Index for photos, documents and stories about Fred Bennett's anc...
