RIP 1999 - 13 May 2008). We chose the name FredTheCat because we had just rescued Fred who had Feline Aids. We named him after 'Queen' star, Freddie Mercury. Fred was in a terrible state but he recovered and took to domestic life very quickly and was a favourite amongst family and friends. Sadly Fred had to be put to sleep on 13th May 2008,. Standard ponies were down a little in numbers in ring two but our ridden and young handler’s classes were well supported, ensuring our judge, Jane Lonsdale, still had her work cut out picking winners.

The committee of Area 25 have always made the conscious decision to ‘give back to the membership’ so profits made from the shows are used to sponsor competitions throughout the year or to benefit the parent body. Over the years we have contributed to updating the computer system at the Head Office, sponsored the Open M&M Working Hunter Pony qualifier and the new Young Riders Competition amongst others.

The first of which is our Good Friday Show at Strecholt. This will host NPS Winter Qualifying classes. We are returning again to the David Broome Event Centre at Crick for the Summer Show on 12th July. We have been lucky enough to be awarded Horse of the Year Show qualifiers for the M&M Open Ridden, M&M Workers and the M&M Lead rein and First ridden classes.
