The puppy bubble…. | Freedom and Dreams
https://freedomanddreams.wordpress.com/2014/02/07/the-puppy-bubble
Natural Learning and LIving in New Zealand. The puppy bubble…. February 7, 2014. This is where I have been. It is strongly reminiscent of having a baby. Like being in a bubble, a baby bubble. I have been locked in self imposed exile – a puppy bubble – for weeks. A delightful, cuddly, well loved bubble, but my own mini world of walkies, training, sleeping patterns, feeding…. There are a few of us out there I am beginning to realise. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. You are commenting u...

Natural Learning and LIving in New Zealand. A dream 9 years in the making…. February 26, 2014. As our year unfurls its new rhythm Ollie has been able to realise a long held dream. At age 4 he became interested in the Army and has collected army gear to rival that of any quartermaster since. Our dress-up box bristles with real NZ Army uniforms, he has bits of uniform from other countries, gear, kit, camo designed paraphenalia. His herosl have one thing in common…they are all ex-SAS! 3 responses ». Fill in...

Natural Learning and LIving in New Zealand. Monthly Archives: November 2013. Market day magic…. November 26, 2013. Here is Charlie living his dream! Yes, the favourite day of the year when he gets to have a shop and work hard in it! This annual event with our homeschool group has become epic for Charlie. This year he had lemonade, popcorn, three raffles and a lucky dip! Amazingly (as the currency was 10c) he made $40! Charlie’s banana cake won first prize! Raffles being drawn caused great excitement!

Natural Learning and LIving in New Zealand. Monthly Archives: January 2014. Other creative stuff our kids like to do…. January 8, 2014. Ollie, Tilly and another friend decided to do a surprise treasure hunt type thing for Charlie, Henry and Walker. They set up notes, codes, “clues” and then surprised the three boys, telling them they had to do a spy mission. Unfortunately it was pouring with rain when they set out…. But they managed to collect everything and returned soaked to the skin! January 8, 2014.

Natural Learning and LIving in New Zealand. Monthly Archives: March 2014. March 28, 2014. Charlie woke up this morning to reveal he had Chicken Pox! I envisaged a day(or several) of playing board games, sitting and distracting him while dabbing on baking soda paste…. But after leaving him with his drawing pad and felts I returned to find him designing a new NZ flag. He has continued, all day now on to his 4th design. Design 1: Kiwi, Silver Fern, Southern Cross. Design 2 : No Kiwi…. March 28, 2014. Always...

The Ramblings of a Multi-tasking Mama: October 2014
http://multi-tasking-mama.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
The Ramblings of a Multi-tasking Mama. Friday, October 31, 2014. On the Big Screen. Some homeschool friends from "up North" visited us recently and as they are younger and quite technically savvy they teach us something new about electronics each time they visit. On this trip they explained to us about a cord that goes from your TV to your laptop, video camera, etc and you can watch the stuff that is being displayed on the small screen on your big screen TV. The Ramblings of a Multi-tasking Mama: April 2014
http://multi-tasking-mama.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
The Ramblings of a Multi-tasking Mama. Wednesday, April 30, 2014. The girls marched in yet another ANZAC Parade this year. Agent Smelly was particularly excited because it was her first time marching as an actual Guide. She so loves being in the older group. Behind the girls are the wooden poppys that were made this year and placed in various public areas around town. Don't they look fabulous? Links to this post. Wednesday, April 23, 2014. They both chose to sew their crafts. Links to this post. Her papa...

The Ramblings of a Multi-tasking Mama. Wednesday, February 25, 2015. Mana Wairua's First Workshop. This year The Fashionista joined a recently formed "Youth Contemporary Dance Company" named - Mana Wairua, set up by the amazing dancing son and daughter, of one of TF's old teachers. Their aim is to perform at festivals and other events. Last week they were lucky to attend a two day contemporary dance workshop. This is from YouTube, there's a few other things on there with Trey also. Anyway TF really enjoy...

The Ramblings of a Multi-tasking Mama: Hieroglyphs and Cuneiform
http://multi-tasking-mama.blogspot.com/2012/11/hieroglyphs-and-cuneiform.html
The Ramblings of a Multi-tasking Mama. Monday, November 5, 2012. Chapter 3 - The First Writing, Story of The World. Today we read chapter 3 which was a short chapter on the earliest people to use writings, i.e. the Egyptians and Sumerians. The girls then cut out the relevant lapbooking piece from The Chronicles of the Earth blog. They had to write something in both hieroglyphs and cuneiform into a little fold over matchbook. I printed out the heiroglyph alphabet from here Heiroglyph Chart. Funnies and Wa...

The Ramblings of a Multi-tasking Mama: September 2014
http://multi-tasking-mama.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
The Ramblings of a Multi-tasking Mama. Monday, September 29, 2014. I have come to realise that there is far too much that I want my children to learn, and that I simply do not have enough time to do it all. The same goes with classic books. I would love to read them all with them but in order to do so we would never have any other time for any of our other subjects. Books They are a little young for The Fashionista and even Agent Smelly really but we can get by with them. Confessions of a Homeschooler.

The Ramblings of a Multi-tasking Mama: Balloons Over Waikato
http://multi-tasking-mama.blogspot.com/2015/04/balloons-over-waikato.html
The Ramblings of a Multi-tasking Mama. Thursday, April 2, 2015. If you are a hot air balloon enthusiast then Hamilton, NZ is a great place to visit for 5 days every March. Each morning the balloons ascend over Hamilton and land somewhere different throughout the day - often a primary school. For the past 15 years they have been holding the. And it is quite an event for the town. Agent Smelly reading and listening to music whilst waiting for dusk to fall. Remembering a camera would have been handy . Quote...

The Ramblings of a Multi-tasking Mama. Tuesday, January 27, 2015. First Day of School. There is something decidedly weird about posting a picture of your daughters first day of school when she is nearly 13 yet at the same time I still look at her and think she's too young for it all. How on earth people send their kids off at 5 years of age beats me! Links to this post. Monday, January 19, 2015. Made lots of lovely new friends. Participated in a talent quest; she danced of course. Did a confidence course.

The Ramblings of a Multi-tasking Mama: First Christmas Ornament Exchange
http://multi-tasking-mama.blogspot.com/2013/12/first-christmas-ornament-exchange.html
The Ramblings of a Multi-tasking Mama. Monday, December 2, 2013. First Christmas Ornament Exchange. Because I am a glutton for punishment, this year I organised a Christmas card or ornament exchange for New Zealand home educated children. For those aged 5-7 they could make and exchange their own cards and for those 8 and above they could participate in an ornament or craft exchange. We had about 70 children enrolled and they were sorted into groups of four, by their ages. Over the Big Moon. I was a great...

The Ramblings of a Multi-tasking Mama. Friday, June 27, 2014. The Magic Half - Book Review. The Magic Half (2009) by Annie Barrows. This book is the best book I have ever read! It is my favourite book. It is a magical adventure about two girls. The main character, Miri, comes from a family that has two sets of twins and is always feeling left out. There she finds a girl called Molly, who is exactly the same age as she is and looks like her too. Agent Smelly (nearly 10! Links to this post. Mad Hatters Tea...

The Ramblings of a Multi-tasking Mama. Sunday, November 23, 2014. Miss 12 and I designed and decorated these candles today as gifts for her ballet and contemporary dance teachers. Her ballet teacher's candle reads, "Life without Ballet would be pointe. Less" We were going to make it in pink and black but as her teacher is an older lady we thought red more appropriate. In their feet and a passion. Links to this post. Labels: Arts and Crafts. Friday, November 21, 2014. Sadly the blood tests show that I hav...
