the neverending battle: March 2015
http://comixrant.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Thursday, March 12, 2015. Being a DC fan in the Marvel age (as well as my Wonder Woman drawing! I think the title for this post sums it all up. I am a DC fan. It is incredibly tough to be a DC fan when everybody on the planet loves Marvel. But why must everybody say DC needs to be doing it like marvel? Can't I have another option on how superheroes are depicted? It wasn't until later that I realized the solution was simple. I needed to stop reading from those sites and listening to those podcasts....

the neverending battle: July 2014

Thursday, July 31, 2014. Messing around with Manga Studio 5. I'm late into the game, but I just started messing with Manga studio 5's demo. I have to say, I'm VERY happy with the inking tool they have. So much so, I'm going to pick up the digital version of it! From what little I've dabbled in, it's already much nicer to use for my ink work than sticking with Photoshop, but it can still pop out PSD files. And it's pretty affordable: at less than 50 dollars for the digital copy. Doubly sold! Chugging alon...

the neverending battle: The Suicide Squad (some of them at least)
http://comixrant.blogspot.com/2015/05/the-suicide-squad-some-of-them-at-least.html
Monday, May 11, 2015. The Suicide Squad (some of them at least). I'm really looking forward to Batman v Superman. But I was pleasantly surprised that the next movie in the DC universe was going to be the Suicide Squad! After the excellent Batman: Assault on Arkham (which barely has any Batman, but a lot of the Suicide Squad), I'm quite excited to see these guys on the big screen. It's not a problem! That's it for today! Bring on the Suicide Squad David Ayer! Labels: Comic book geek out. I really should b...

the neverending battle: January 2015
http://comixrant.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Tuesday, January 20, 2015. My Comic Book: Page 20 final inks. I've got a few posts to catch up on. It's been awhile since I updated this blog as well, I've sort of got an excuse, but I'm back on the book again! I jumped on the Inktober bandwagon last year so that took up most of October month. I'll post that work up here soon, but for now, page 20 is done! As for November and December? Uh, I have no excuse. I kinda slowed down for the holidays. and a lot of life got in the way! The good life though!

the neverending battle: May 2014
http://comixrant.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html
Tuesday, May 13, 2014. My Comic Book: Issue 3 Page 15, 16 and 17 thumbnails. I got a few more pages thumbnailed out. My brain usually works out of order when I'm doing thumbnails. Sometimes some sequences come out clearer than others when I'm first "piecing" pages together. For page 15, I knew exactly what those last two panels should be. And from there, I worked backwards; connecting it back to page 14. It would've been fun to show all the other teams in the Bomb Squad, but I really wanted to devote mor...

the neverending battle: Jeans and T-Shirt Superman
http://comixrant.blogspot.com/2015/04/jean-and-t-shirt-superman.html
Friday, April 10, 2015. Jeans and T-Shirt Superman. DC had shown some images of Superman's new costume a few weeks back, and I have to say, I'm quite excited to see what stories they'll do connected with his new look. I actually like Jeans and T-shirt Superman from Grant Morrison's run on Action Comics, so it's nice to see it come back with a few changes. I started off with a pencil sketch. It's basically a riff of of the original cover to Superman #1. Photo Reference of my arm. View my complete profile.

the neverending battle: April 2015
http://comixrant.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Saturday, April 25, 2015. Being a DC fan in the Marvel age and my Inktober 2014 (Part 2 of 2). Sigh Another post being triggered by the general public's blind hate towards anything DC and extreme love for anything Marvel. Was soon released and even though I was holding off, because I wanted to save it for when I went to the theater, all the hate about it that day, made me buckle and I decided to watch it. My inner fan was rejuvenated! Anyway. End rant! Back to Inktober part 2! I love Astroboy. Osamu ...

Wednesday, April 16, 2014. My Comic Book: Issue 3 Page 14 Final inks. Not sure why, but I'm kinda beat tonight. Still, I managed to push it a bit and get the "inks" on this page finished up. Remind me to go easy on the R's in the next page! I had a little help from some of my favorite game soundtracks to spur me on tonight. Thank you Jet Set Radio Future. And my all-time favorite Sonic Rush. For getting me through outlining all those "R"s! Links to this post. Monday, April 14, 2014. It wasn't easy to pus...
