Carl, Ash, Sophie, and Cade. Tuesday, August 5, 2014. Cade is like a little bear. He finds a bush, plops down next to it and proceeds to eat all the berries. He never actually puts any berries into the bucket- just straight into his mouth. Sophie is our scouter. She is excellent at finding the berries, but tends to quickly lose interest in picking them. Carl, Ash, Sophie, and Cade. Wednesday, March 12, 2014. We just got back from a wonderful trip to Phoenix. Considering we left in a blizzard, and it was 30 below- the 70 degree weather felt heavenly! It was such a thrill to be able to wear short sleeves, and sunscreen. I know we got many looks because the locals were wearing long sleeves and pants- the weather felt cold to them! One of our first stops was the Phoenix Children's museum. It is wonderful! Sophie loved taking her bike through a giant car wash.

Chad and I have been saving for a while now to take a much needed 10-year anniversary trip (no small feat when you haven't been paid in 6 months). Then, an emergency appendectomy pretty much ate up all that hard-earned savings. Who wants to go to the boring old tropics anyway? We were very lucky to borrow these from a neighbor. She was not thrilled with the color and offered to wear 3 sizes too small pants we had. I was so mad when someone had absconded with hers and Ruby's pumpkins from our front porch. Grrrr. Noelle and her best buds, Lilly and Brooklyn. I asked her to take care of Ruby on the ride. She takes her role as big sister very seriously. The Angry Birds t-shirt was a hit. Last year of preschool. Sniff. Somebody wanted a turn. This was the schooling she got.
