Our French House Renovation. To Make an Omelette. October 26, 2016. I am here in France for my last visit of this year. On this trip we are having the last major works to the house, a new Fosse Septique. View from our front door. We have a functioning Fosse but it is not up to modern standards as it does not take all the water from the house and knowing the Deaumonteis (the family who sold the house), it is was probably made from bin bags and string! We also do not know where it is! Typing this blog post.

I am Paul Dracott, I am a garden designer and this is my blog about the renovation of a small house in South Western France. My family and I have holidayed at the same place for the last seven years and last August, we stumbled across an unihabited house with a small hand written ‘A Vendre’ sign. The house has a very old Fosse Septique and by some miracle SPANC have not condemned it, but in order to start work on the main area of the garden and save disruption later I have decided to have a new one installed in the Spring.
