It is only this year that we discovered the sculptures at Port d'Envaux although they've been there for over ten years. The most striking is the feotus carved out of the rock, which is approximately more than ten feet in length.

For vital supplies there are two large supermarkets in St Jean d'Angely, the nearest is the Intermarche and is ten minutes drive away, the LeClerk is the other side of town. For less vital supplies there are a number of boutique type shops in St Jean d'Angely. More aggressive shopping can be found at La Rochelle which has enough shops to wear out a pair of shoes and enough shoe shops to make it all worthwhile.

There are a number of restuarants in St Jean d'Angely but we've tended to end up at the following:. Is a straightforward pizza and a bit more place where they'll not notice unruly children and the bill is not hefty. Is located in the central square, Place de Pilori, next to the Ellis Park Bar. Is located in the neighbouring square, Le Place du Marche and has plenty of tables outside. The location isn't as attractive as L'Annexe. It is friendly and reasonably well priced. Courant is a typical French village contructed of white stone set in the heart of agricultural countryside. There are deserted farm tracks to amble and cycle along and if you're quiet enough you are likely to encounter deer, rabbits, hare, snakes and the odd impressive bird of prey. Our Journey
Through infertility, pregnancy and life with a baby, 3 IVFs including one at CCRM with CGH testing which brought us our sweet baby girl. Now, our journey to baby #2 continues at CCRM!
