The first boat operated by Freshwater Lifeboat was an RFD 'D' Class inshore lifeboat, seen here during an exercise off the Needles. The boathouse that this was kept in, is still used to house the current 'D' class (the Berry B), but has been extensively built around to form the station that can be seen today. What Knot Crafts homepage. I first became interested in knotting when I was in the sea scouts many years ago! A sailor would come to show us how to tie the various knots. Then, in later years I made belts, bathroom cords and knot covered bottles. In the 1980's I became a member of the International Guild of Knot Tyers. This guild is now worldwide and has well over 1000 members. We collect donations for the Freshwater Independent Lifeboat. International Guild of Knot Tyers.
