Fretboard.com - Beginning Mandolin

http://www.fretboard.com/mando_6.html

In this installment, we're going to continue with the focus on playing more single note runs because this is such an important aspect of your playing. Whether as melodic fills between verses or in playing an actual part during the instrumental section of a song, you cannot escape that you will be called upon to play melodic passages. So the first tune up is called Kerry Polka. An old traditional song. This one is pretty easy. Just pay attention to the dotted eighth notes! In the song, you are connecting ...

Fretboard.com - The History Of The Guitar

http://www.fretboard.com/guitarhistory.html

In tracing the general evolution of the guitar, it becomes largely a matter of speculation. We cannot say specifically when one instrument appeared, what influenced its origins, and how it affected the development of other instruments. A lute shaped instrument; and the guitarra latina. A third instrument, the vihuela de mano.

FRETBOARD.COM -- JBL D Series & K Series Differences

http://www.fretboard.com/jblspeakerclarity.html

The Difference Between The JBL D series and K Series Speaker Cone. There is a swirling controversy about JBL D series and K series speakers involving the speaker cone. So far, the common major and minor chords we ve discussed have been in what is called root position. Which has the 3. In the bass (lowest note), and when you raise the 3. Up an octave, you get the second inversion. In the bass (lowest note). Bear in mind that an interval changes its type when inverted. For instance, a thi...Like ...

Dave's Fretboard Ramblings

My thoughts and experiences playing the guitar, bass, and mandolin. Thursday, July 2, 2015. Or "More Wheeling and Dealing". Or "Happy Canada Day to Me! Yes, I've just completed another round of buying and selling. I realized that the 12-string, while a nice instrument, was a novelty that I wasn't playing much after the novelty had worn off. Some more web searching showed a new Larrivee OM-03. For a fair price, free shipping, and a 30-day money back return policy. Elderly has a sterling reputation, so...
