While Lisa and I were crossing the Highline Trail our favorite part was what we patched together between the East Fork Blacks Fork and Red Castle. To put it all together was a memorable trip of fantastic scenery.and a reckoning of sorts with the lightning that scared me senseless in Oweep in summer 2013. Will write about that, and more, later this winter when I have some time. Mile 0 of 46.

Fretwater is the name of a rapid in Desolation Canyon, named by explorer John Wesley Powell in 1869 after his expedition wrecked a boat there. Powell travelled nearly 1000 miles down an uncharted river naming things as he went. Fretwater is one of my favorite John Wesley Powell place names. It's also a good one word description of the events in 2008 that led me to start this collection. When I hear the name Fretwater. How I chose the name.

Monday, March 19, 2018. This time around we pre-glassed all the interior walls, which was way easier than doing it after we'd built the boxes. It also gave us way smoother glass work.
