In many ways, Istanbul reminded us of living in Seattle except Istanbul is 20 times larger! Weather, rain, and temperatures during the months of Jan March (when we were here) are similar to that of Seattle. Boat travel is really very convenient in Istanbul. Ferries are frequent and fast. Some are of Catamaran design. The photo below is of a train depot near the ferry dock.

Canoeing in Voyagers National Park. Mt Everest Base Camp. Mt Everest Base Camp. Published on 5-May-2012 by Ray Fried. Voyagers NP was named for the fur traders that navigated this area in the 1800's. They used canoes and would portage as much as 250 lbs/person. They would often paddle 18 hours/day. Blue Water and Small Islands. We covered about 40 miles in 2 days. Campsites are only accessible by canoe/boat but are well furnished. Camp-sites were well marked - if you located the correct island!

Perhaps this is the reason we often feel crossing streets can be life threatening! There are many vehicles like this little red car (or is it a motorcycle). Actually, we have seen these vehicles in a "car form" with a steering wheel and also in the "motorcycle form" with a handlebar. Interesting and Great Food!
