Raising funds to provide clean drinking water. How You Can Help. Enable the community to have fresh drinking water available all year. Reduce the risk of infection / diseases such as cholera and typhoid. Increase the yield of harvest. Generate food for families - any surplus can be sold to generate income. Our success will lead to children going to secondary education, building stronger homes and increasing the general well-being of the community. Supported by The Rotary Club of Brackley. Dig a borehole to allow access to clean water. Construct water storage tanks. Install generators to pump the water. Install taps and piping. Friday, November 13, 2009. Currently the land is lying idle, grazed by domestic animals from neighbouring Kano Plains. The factory is derelict, rusting away from nine years of slumber. The once busy Kisumu-Nandi Hills road has lost its tarmac layer and acquired crater-like holes. Feeder roads leading into the dark estates are inaccessible. The entire infrastructure of Miwani collapsed the day the factory went to sleep. As I go back to Miwani for Christmas next month, what do I tell these people?
